Job Description


Designation: Quality ManagerQualification: Engineering graduate preferably in Mechanical / Electrical / ElectronicsExperience: 15-20 years\' experience with OEMs in a similar roleLocation: Navi MumbaiRoles and Responsibilities:

  • Leading and managing a team of Quality Engineers to meet the Quality goals and manage the Quality Assessment and improvement activities
  • Carrying out PSA (Potential Supplier Assessment) for qualifying potential suppliers for sourcing of commodities (Direct Material)
  • Managing the APQP (Advanced Product Quality Plan) for all supplied parts to ensure zero defects.
  • Ensuring Capacity availability at suppliers through formal Run Rate process.
  • Resolving quality issues in parts by guiding and reviewing with suppliers to take corrective and preventive measures.
  • Managing quality improvement initiatives to achieve zero ppm and field quality
  • Monitoring the production line and doing periodic Quality Control checks
  • Implementing improvements to production processes that lead to overall increases in product quality
  • Working together with project leaders to discuss solutions to quality issues
  • Satisfying customer expectations about the product's quality
  • Creating production plans for new products to guarantee quality from the beta stage
  • Writing reports on design, pre-production, and production to check on the quality status of the product at all stages of production and inform the rest of the production team
  • Complying with ISO accreditation requirements.
  • Complying with Local W&M, PESO requirements, and creating and maintaining documentation and records.
  • BIS, OIML, and MID Factory Audits
  • Auditing materials provided by suppliers to assure quality before incorporation into the product
  • Assessing the product quality by testing for a range of features and seeing how the product performs under stresses like impact, temperature, humidity, etc.
  • Investigating causes of quality problems and proposing solutions
  • Training new Quality Control employees
  • Utilising extensive knowledge of the product's inner workings to diagnose problems
  • Working with Product Development QA team and tracking product development releases process
  • Continuous learning on upcoming Quality Control techniques
Key Skills: Ability to deal with and manage local and global suppliers to ensure the best Quality
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes and good problem-solving skills
  • Computer skills and experience of working in a strong ERP environment
  • Knowledge of diverse commodities in the Manufacturing industry.
  • Analytical skills, Good numerical skills, and an understanding of statistics.
  • The ability to make considered decisions and to communicate them effectively.
