Position Title: Quality Management System Supervisor
Department: Quality Control / Quality Assurance
Reports To: Quality Manager / Production Manager
Position Summary:
The Quality Management System (QMS) Supervisor in a furniture manufacturing environment is responsible for supporting the implementation, maintenance, and improvement of the Quality Management System (QMS). This position ensures that all furniture products meet the required quality standards, specifications, and customer expectations. The QMS Supervisor will work closely with the production team to monitor product quality, manage inspections, and implement continuous improvement practices to achieve consistent product quality.
Key Responsibilities:
• QMS Implementation & Maintenance:
• Assist in the implementation and maintenance of the company's Quality Management System in alignment with industry standards (e.g., ISO 9001).
• Ensure that all processes related to furniture manufacturing, including design, assembly, and finishing, adhere to the established quality standards.
• Assist with conducting internal audits to ensure compliance with QMS and prepare for external audits.
• Maintain records of quality procedures, corrective actions, and continuous improvement activities.
• Quality Control Monitoring:
• Oversee the day-to-day quality control activities in the furniture production lines, including raw material inspection, in-process inspection, and final product checks.
• Monitor product quality through various stages of production: wood cutting, assembly, upholstery, finishing, and packaging.
• Perform visual inspections of furniture items to ensure they meet the required specifications, including checking for defects like scratches, dents, and improper finishes.
• Investigate and report quality issues to the production team and implement corrective actions as needed.
• Team Supervision & Training:
• Assist in supervising the quality control team and provide guidance on how to apply QMS procedures in day-to-day operations.
• Ensure team members are trained on quality standards and encourage a culture of quality across all departments.
• Support employees in understanding the importance of maintaining high-quality production standards and ensuring proper inspection techniques are followed.
• Customer Complaint Management:
• Investigate customer complaints regarding the quality of finished furniture products.
• Collaborate with production and design teams to analyze and resolve quality issues and ensure corrective actions are implemented to prevent recurrence.
• Track and analyze customer feedback and returns related to product defects or quality issues.
• Document Control & Reporting:
• Ensure proper documentation of quality control procedures, inspection results, and corrective actions.
• Prepare and present quality control reports to management, outlining trends in product defects, inspection results, and corrective actions.
• Maintain a system for document control, including updating quality manuals and work instructions as necessary.
• Continuous Improvement:
• Assist in identifying and implementing continuous improvement initiatives in the furniture production processes to reduce defects, improve efficiency, and optimize production quality.
• Help support initiatives like Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma to improve product quality and reduce waste.
• Monitor production trends, identify recurring quality issues, and collaborate with teams to implement preventive measures.
• Compliance & Certification:
• Ensure the company's quality management system complies with relevant industry standards, regulations, and certifications.
• Help prepare for external audits and maintain relevant certifications related to the furniture manufacturing industry.
• Stay informed about changes in quality standards or regulations in the furniture industry and incorporate them into QMS practices.
Qualifications and Skills:
• Educational Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Furniture Design, Quality Management, or related field.
• ISO 9001 Lead Auditor or other quality certifications are a plus but not mandatory.
• Experience:
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in quality control, quality assurance, or quality management roles in a furniture manufacturing or related industry.
• Familiarity with furniture production processes and quality standards is preferred.
• Skills:
• Basic understanding of Quality Management Systems (QMS) , ISO 9001 , and furniture industry standards.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify defects and deviations from quality standards.
• Proficiency in using quality control tools, equipment, and software for documenting inspections and tracking defects.
• Good communication skills for liaising with production teams, management, and external auditors.
• Ability to analyze data and prepare reports on product quality performance.

Working Conditions:
• Full-time position.
• Primarily works in a furniture manufacturing environment, with visits to production areas, warehouses, and storage facilities.
• May require working in shifts or overtime during peak production periods.
Performance Expectations:
• Assist in maintaining consistent product quality in line with customer specifications and regulatory requirements.
• Ensure timely resolution of quality issues and complaints.
• Contribute to ongoing quality improvement initiatives and support the QMS to achieve better production standards.
• Prepare for successful audits and maintain certification status related to quality management standards.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: ?20,000.00 - ?40,000.00 per month
