The Team:

A part of Ratings Technology, the Ratings QA team leads the IT organization in the delivery of trusted quality to our users. From a foundation of disciplined processes, QA seeks out innovative testing solutions, reliable & transparent test execution, and aspires towards continuous improvement in achieving top quality. In close partnership with Product Management and Product Engineering, QA team members help drive quality accountability, and work to ensure our end users receive reliable, stable, defect free products, which help confidently execute our business and elevate our products.



The Impact:

As an S&P Global Ratings QA Strategic Lead, you will partner with equivalent level Product Management and Product Engineering peers to lead the successful delivery of a defined product portfolio for our internal and external customers. The role focusses on developing effective product strategy roadmaps, managing supporting people & processes, and guiding associated projects to successful delivery - with a product-oriented and proactive quality mindset. The QA Strategic Lead is part of the broader Ratings QA organization, but aligned to the Workflow & Controls product portfolio in day-to-day delivery accountability with reporting directly into the Head of Product Engineering QA - Workflow & Controls.

You will lead a group of quality assurance engineers, who play a QA leadership role amongst our product Scrum teams, providing them with career and skills growth opportunities and interface with senior executives by facilitating clear communication and leadership surrounding the quality and strategic direction of our products



Help lead our successful delivery, collaborating with both product management and engineering partners to set direction, build consensus, resolve challenges, and create an environment which draws contributions from all participants within and across the portfolios, the scrum teams, and QA community of practice.



Responsibilities:

Lead a defined group of QAs, members of our global scrum teams, in supporting product quality, testing strategy, automation, performance, and resourcing needs, in the delivery of top quality in Workflow & Controls.



Actively participate & advise in the creation and maintenance of overall product roadmaps and the quality assurance direction for both internal and new product systems. Ensuring understanding of domain & technology knowledge amongst team members to effectively support.



Pro-actively review test assets (manual, automated, and performance) and communicates results and suggestions for avoiding failures in test execution or preventable testing gaps.



Provide direction and guidance on reports, communications, and quality assurance training materials and ensure recommendations are aligned with customer/organization needs and capabilities.



Lead the successful delivery of quality assurance efforts on projects; including contributing to and monitoring project plans and budgets.



Supporting our Agile methodology, contribute to the IT product portfolio ownership, including the creation and maintenance of the overall product roadmaps and supporting QA strategy for both existing and new product systems, assuring top quality for all stakeholders.



Define, document and adhere to Agile and QA processes and operational policies by building upon and improving what is already in-place.



Through the adoption of new methodologies, test automation, RPA and other advanced testing methods, provide leadership in certifying applications for our DevOps/CI/CD/CT strategy leading to true cloud native operations for the product portfolio.



Contribute to the evolution and delivery of world class quality assurance operations that are a showcase of process documentation, communication and defect reduction. Promote and drive innovation in technologies, processes, and tools for cutting-edge development.



Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree, BS degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or software engineering preferred.



8+ years of Technology experience within the financial services industry or a regulated industry; 5+ years of leadership experience with a software engineering team, preferably in a product delivery-oriented environment.



Extensive testing on driving TOSCA projects is mandatory.



Hands-on Experience in setting up CT jobs in ADO is mandatory



Demonstrated experience of delivering successful end-to-end quality with complex workflow systems, including test process design, implementation, and governance of quality dimensions spanning UI, web services, and reference databases.



Ability to lead development of strategic plans and operating plans, to grow, enhance quality assurance procedures, processes and transform a product.



Experience with test driven development, testing frameworks (including data testing, service testing, performance testing, load testing etc), test automation and RPA.



Strong analytical thinking, interpersonal, oral and written communication skills with strong ability to influence both technology and business partners.



Preferred Qualifications:

Master's degree preferred



Experience working with Pega and internal workflow systems, and Tricentis Tosca test automation. Knowledge of UFT, Python, and Selenium automation is beneficial.



Applied experience implementing automated testing in cloud environments in a DevOps/CI/CD based environment where automation is the basis for defect free releases.



Strong knowledge of Agile approaches to software testing and able to define, document and put key Agile principles into practice to test solutions incrementally including continuous testing.



Strong continuous improvement mindset, with demonstrated ability to lead & deliver solutions to complex problems.
