Job Title: Quality Control (QC) Supervisor - Furniture Industry

Reports to: Quality Control Manager/Production Manager
Position Summary: The QC Supervisor in the furniture industry is responsible for overseeing the Quality Control team, ensuring that all furniture products meet the company's quality standards and regulatory requirements. This role involves developing and implementing quality control processes, managing team performance, and collaborating with other departments to address quality-related issues.
Key Responsibilities:
• Supervision and Leadership:
• Lead and manage the Quality Control team, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations.
• Schedule and assign work to QC staff, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to deadlines.
• Foster a culture of quality and continuous improvement within the team.
• Quality Assurance:
• Develop, implement, and maintain quality control procedures and standards specific to the furniture industry.
• Conduct regular inspections and audits of raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods to ensure compliance with company and regulatory standards.
• Investigate and resolve quality issues, implementing corrective actions and preventive measures.
• Documentation and Reporting:
• Maintain accurate and detailed records of quality control processes, inspections, and test results.
• Prepare and present quality reports to senior management, highlighting trends, issues, and areas for improvement.
• Ensure all documentation is compliant with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
• Process Improvement:
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement changes to enhance product quality and operational efficiency.
• Collaborate with other departments, such as Production, Design, and Procurement, to ensure quality standards are met throughout the production process.
• Stay updated on industry trends and best practices to continuously improve QC processes.
• Compliance and Safety:
• Ensure all QC activities comply with industry regulations, company policies, and safety standards.
• Stay updated on regulatory changes and implement necessary adjustments to maintain compliance.
• Conduct safety training and ensure all QC staff adhere to safety protocols.
• Training and Development:
• Develop and conduct training programs for QC staff on quality control procedures, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement and professional development within the QC team.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Quality Management, Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related field.
• Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in quality control within the furniture industry, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
• Strong knowledge of furniture quality control standards, methodologies, and regulatory requirements.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in using quality control software and tools.
• Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Certification in Quality Management (e.g., Six Sigma, ISO).
• Experience with various materials and manufacturing processes used in the furniture industry.
• Familiarity with CAD software and product design principles.
