Basic Function:

The Quality Control In-charge is responsible for overseeing the quality control processes within the manufacturing facility. The role involves ensuring that all products meet the required customer specifications and industry standards at every stage of production. This includes monitoring raw materials, in-process production, and final goods. The Quality Control In-charge will work closely with the Quality Manager, Production Supervisors, and other departments to ensure consistent product quality and adherence to established quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:1. Quality Control Activities:

• Supervise and manage quality control activities at all stages of production, including raw materials, in-process products, and final products.
• Ensure that all products meet customer specifications, regulatory standards, and internal quality standards.
• Monitor the performance of quality control procedures to ensure consistency and effectiveness.

2. Testing & Equipment Management:

• Operate and maintain quality testing equipment and machinery to measure key material properties (e.g., hardness, alloy composition, dimensions, and surface finish).
• Conduct laboratory testing and ensure accurate and reliable testing results for raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods.
• Keep records of all testing activities, results, and observations for future analysis and reporting.

3. Material Sampling and Labeling:

• Ensure proper sampling of raw materials and finished products for testing to guarantee that the final product meets quality standards.
• Oversee labeling of materials and products according to specifications for traceability, quality assurance, and inventory management.
• Ensure proper verification and labeling of product quantities before dispatch to clients or warehouses.

4. Identification of Non-Conformities:

• Identify any quality issues, defects, or non-conformities during production and take appropriate action.
• Perform regular inspections and draw control samples from each batch of raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods to identify and address issues promptly.

5. Corrective Actions & Preventive Measures:

• Analyze the root causes of any identified non-conformities and determine corrective actions to resolve them.
• Implement corrective and preventive action plans, working in coordination with production, engineering, and maintenance teams to prevent recurrence of quality issues.

6. Documentation & Reporting:

• Maintain accurate records of quality control activities, including test results, inspections, corrective actions, and production issues.
• Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly quality control reports to the Quality Manager and other relevant departments.
• Ensure proper documentation for audits, compliance checks, and regulatory requirements.

7. Calibration and Instrument Monitoring:

• Ensure the proper calibration and maintenance of all measuring instruments and testing equipment used in the quality control process.
• Troubleshoot and resolve any issues related to calibration, ensuring that instruments meet industry standards and regulatory requirements.

8. Collaboration with Production & Engineering Teams:

• Collaborate with the production team to maintain consistent quality throughout the manufacturing process.
• Work with the engineering and maintenance teams to improve production processes and troubleshoot quality issues.
• Participate in product development and design reviews to ensure that new products meet quality standards and production capabilities.

9. Continuous Improvement:

• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and programs aimed at reducing waste, enhancing production efficiency, and improving product quality.
• Assist in the development and implementation of continuous improvement strategies and quality assurance protocols.

10. Training and Mentorship:

• Train and mentor junior quality control staff to ensure adherence to quality standards and best practices.
• Conduct regular training sessions for production teams to increase awareness of quality standards and the importance of maintaining quality throughout the production process.

Required Qualifications:

• Education: A diploma or degree (B.Tech/Diploma) in Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality Control, or a related field.
• Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in a quality control role within a manufacturing environment.
• Skills:
• Proficient in using quality testing machinery, laboratory instruments, and measurement tools.
• Strong knowledge of material properties, dimensional measurement, and surface finish testing.
• Ability to identify quality issues quickly and effectively resolve them.
• Excellent documentation and reporting skills, with attention to detail.
• Familiarity with industry standards and quality management systems (e.g., ISO, Six Sigma).
• Ability to lead and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with specific manufacturing processes (e.g., Aluminum Extrusion, CNC machining, injection molding) is a plus.
• Certifications in Quality Control or Six Sigma (Green/Black Belt) would be an added advantage.
