Key Responsibilities:
Quality Control Testing & Inspections:
• Perform in-process, pre-release, and final inspections of raw materials, intermediate products, and finished goods to ensure they meet established quality standards and specifications.
• Conduct tests on raw materials, packaging materials, and finished products using appropriate analytical methods and equipment (e.g., spectrophotometers, HPLC, moisture analyzers).
• Review and verify product specifications, labels, and packaging materials to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal standards.
Documenting and Reporting:
• Maintain detailed records of all testing and inspections, ensuring proper documentation of results and any deviations from the expected quality.
• Prepare and generate inspection reports, quality control logs, and other required documentation for internal and external audits.
• Report and escalate any non-conformance or quality issues to the Quality Manager and relevant departments.
Deviation Management & Root Cause Analysis:
• Investigate quality issues, including customer complaints, non-conformance reports (NCRs), and defects, and identify root causes.
• Collaborate with production, engineering, and supply chain teams to implement corrective actions and process improvements.
• Ensure corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs) are documented and properly implemented to address recurring quality concerns.
Compliance & Regulatory Standards:
• Ensure compliance with industry-specific quality standards (e.g., GMP, ISO, FDA, or other applicable regulations).
• Monitor and ensure that all processes comply with internal quality management systems and regulatory requirements.
• Assist in preparing for internal and external audits, ensuring all required documentation is in place and up-to-date.
Equipment Calibration and Maintenance:
• Ensure that all testing equipment is calibrated, maintained, and operating correctly according to the manufacturer's guidelines and industry standards.
• Perform regular checks and maintain records for equipment calibration and service to ensure the accuracy of test results.
Training and Continuous Improvement:
• Provide training and guidance to junior quality control staff or production teams on quality control procedures, safety standards, and best practices.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and quality programs aimed at improving product quality and manufacturing efficiency.
• Stay up to date with new quality control methodologies, industry trends, and regulatory changes.
Quality Assurance Support:
• Collaborate with the Quality Assurance team to ensure alignment between quality control and overall quality management practices.
• Assist in the development and review of quality standards, specifications, and procedures to ensure consistent product quality.
Skills and Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Chemistry, Pharmacy, Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience in a quality control or quality assurance role (minimum [Insert Number] years preferred).
• Strong knowledge of quality control methodologies, testing techniques, and industry regulations (e.g., GMP, ISO, FDA guidelines).
• Experience with laboratory equipment and analytical testing methods.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to identify and resolve quality issues effectively.
• Good understanding of documentation practices, including the creation and management of test reports, SOPs, and non-conformance logs.
• Familiarity with quality management systems (QMS) and enterprise resource planning (ERP) software.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact with internal teams and report findings.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
