Educational Qualifications:
Bachelor's/Master's degree in Fisheries, Food Technology, Microbiology, Biotechnology, Veterinary, Zoology, Chemistry, or a related field
Conduct regular inspections of the production line to ensure adherence to company and regulatory quality standards.
Perform analytical and organoleptic assessments of seafood products to confirm they meet specified criteria.
Documentation and Compliance
Maintain detailed records of inspections, test results, and any deviations from quality standards.
Ensure all processes comply with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), sanitation protocols, HACCP, and food safety certifications.
Equipment and Process Management
Regularly check and calibrate testing equipment to maintain accuracy.
Collaborate with production staff to communicate quality issues and implement corrective actions.
Continuous Improvement and Audits
Participate in quality audits and contribute to the development of improved quality control procedures.
Conduct root cause analysis and guide Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) to address quality issues.
General Expectations of Skills and Competencies:
Strong attention to detail to identify inconsistencies and defects in products and processes.
Proficiency in conducting tests and interpreting data to make informed decisions.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively report findings and collaborate with team members.
Problem-solving skills for root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions.
Familiarity with quality assurance tools, food safety audits, and certification training is preferred.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to work in cold environments typical of fish processing facilities.
Willingness to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.
Capacity to lift and move products as needed.
