: Quality Control (QC) Executive - Feed Mill and Layer Poultry Farm

Position Title: Quality Control (QC) Executive

Location: Ajmer, Rajasthan

Department: Feed Mill and Poultry Farm Operations

Reports To: Owner

Industry: Poultry and Livestock Feed Production

Job Summary:

The Quality Control (QC) Executive will oversee and ensure the production of high-quality feed and maintain optimal quality standards in poultry farming. The individual will implement quality protocols, monitor feed production processes, and oversee the overall health and productivity of the poultry, ensuring compliance with both internal and external quality standards.

The QC Executive is also responsible for ensuring the feed and poultry meet the highest quality benchmarks.

Key Responsibilities (KRAs):

1. Feed Mill Quality Control:

• Raw Material Inspection:
• Conduct quality checks on raw materials (grains, vitamins, minerals, etc.) to ensure they meet the required standards before use in feed production.
• Collaborate with procurement and suppliers to ensure the consistent quality of raw materials.
• Feed Formulation Verification:
• Regularly test and verify feed formulations.
• Analyze samples for moisture content, nutrient composition, and any potential contaminants.
• Process Monitoring:
• Monitor the feed production process, ensuring the operation adheres to established procedures.
• Ensure grinding, mixing, pelleting, and cooling processes are aligned with the quality guidelines.
• Finished Product Testing:
• Conduct tests on finished feed for physical and chemical properties, including texture, particle size, nutrient balance, and homogeneity.
• Maintain records of production batches, lab test results, and any corrective actions taken.
• Inventory Control:
• Monitor and control the inventory of feed ingredients to ensure quality and prevent deterioration.

2. Poultry Farm Quality Control:

• Health and Welfare of Poultry:
• Regularly inspect and monitor the poultry for signs of disease, stress, or poor health.
• Ensure the birds receive the appropriate quality and quantity of feed and water.
• Environmental Control:
• Maintain optimal environmental conditions in the battery cages, including proper ventilation, temperature, and light control.
• Regularly monitor and ensure the cleanliness and hygiene of the cages, feeding systems, and waterers.
• Egg Quality Control:
• Inspect and monitor egg quality, focusing on shell integrit.
• Implement procedures to maintain high egg production rates and minimize breakage or defects.
• Flock Performance Monitoring:
• Track key performance metrics of the flock, including feed conversion ratio (FCR), egg production rates, mortality rates, and bird weight.
• Provide regular reports to management on flock health and production statistics.

3. Regulatory Compliance:

• Implement biosecurity measures and ensure adherence to them by all farm staff.

4. Documentation and Reporting:

• Maintain and update detailed records on quality checks, test results, flock health, production data, and corrective actions taken.
• Generate daily, weekly, and monthly reports on feed quality, farm operations, and performance metrics.
• Communicate any quality issues or risks to the management team promptly.

5. Continuous Improvement Initiatives:

• Identify areas for process improvement in feed production, poultry management, and quality control.
• Recommend and implement solutions to enhance product quality, reduce waste, and improve efficiency.

6. Training and Supervision:

• Provide training to production staff on quality control protocols, feed preparation, and poultry handling.
• Supervise and support the workers to ensure compliance with quality standards and procedures.
• Ensure all farm workers understand the importance of maintaining quality standards and follow biosecurity protocols.

7. Health and Safety:

• Ensure all safety guidelines are followed in both feed mill operations and poultry farming practices.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Education:
• Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Animal Science, Food Technology, Veterinary Science, or related fields.
• Specialized training or certification in feed milling or poultry management would be an advantage.
• Experience:
• 2-3 years of experience in quality control in the feed or poultry industry.
• Experience in poultry farm operations is highly preferred.
• Technical Skills:
• Familiarity with feed mill machinery and equipment.
• Understanding of poultry farming operations and animal welfare standards.
• Proficiency in quality testing methods and lab equipment.
• Soft Skills:
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and reporting skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Leadership and team management capabilities.

This position plays a key role in ensuring that both feed production and poultry farming operations meet the highest quality standards to maximize productivity, profitability, and compliance with industry regulations.

Salary Range : 15K To 20K CTC Per Month

Job Location : Ajmer

Pay: ?15,000.00 - ?20,000.00 per month
