CIENA\'s Packet products portfolio comprises of a broad family of products for access and aggregation tiers of the network. Typically spanning from the Metro edge to the customer edge, these products provide Carrier Ethernet/IP-MPLS/TDM services in mobile backhaul, enterprise and residential domains.

The Packet Software and Access R&D organization is responsible for delivering platform-independent Service Aware Operating System (SAOS), Access products and next-generation virtualized operating system to support Virtualized/SDN/NFV applications.

How You Will Contribute:

Functional engineer will be Responsible for developing functional test strategies, test plans, test execution along with automation suite for platform-independent current and next-generation packet software encompassing the broad spectrum of CIENA\'s networking products. You will get an opportunity to innovate and influence new technologies that shape the future of Next Generation networks

• Requires continuous research to ensure software features meet identified standards and product functional requirements
• Develop, execute and automate functional test plans to verify product capabilities
• Execution of test cases and reporting test results with artifacts using Test Rail/QC
• Work closely with engineers across teams to ensure quality for the features
• Build in-depth knowledge of product architecture and develop ability to root-cause issues
• FS and test plan / scripts review: Able to host test plan reviews for assigned features, as well as to contribute to test plan reviews held by other team members. Attend independently and provide comments for the functional requirements and/or those relating to commercial specifications/RFCs for FS reviews
• Develop test cases beyond what is described in FS, including compliancy to commercial specs and RFCs, potential and likely interactions with other features, which may involve complex scenarios and topology \xe2\x80\xa2
• Good Understanding of routing products and at ease to ramp up quickly on new technologies and concepts
• Capability to give Technical leadership to Small team of Test Engineers (Mentorship)
• Work closely with all the Stakeholders (Design, Project Management, Documentation etc.)

• Demonstrated ability to Multitask on Multiple Projects Contributes (may take lead role) on a project team of engineers involved in the release and test of software. Quickly comes up to speed in understanding of advanced concepts/methodology and contributes to improving and extending the impact and efficiency of those concepts or new directions to the current project
• Conducts knowledge sharing sessions (Critical): Moderate to complex topics, including smaller protocol or RFC related information, specific functional area presentations or methods of procedures. Topics not product related that may help improve process or efficiency, such introduction to new tools for testers

Must Haves:

• Hands on working Experience on Networking protocols testing on any routing products: BGP-SR, MP-BGP, L2VPN,EVPN, LDP, SR , SR-TE, MPLS, FRR/TI-LFA, MPLS-TP, RSVP-TE/FRR, management interface like Netconf, gnmi and more.
• Good knowledge of Network Design and deployment scenarios in various Layer 3 features and writing detailed test plan to ensure the highest quality product delivery.
• Experience with Packet Traffic generators such as IXIA, Spirent. Experience on IxNetwork is desirable.
• Experience in automation(specially Python) is required, person should be able create standalone automation script to use for day to day testing and at the same time should be able to review automation scripts developed by other engineers and ensure feature coverage.
