As a QA Engineer, we expect you to really make a mark by helping us to improve quality. This role is based in The Economists Gurugram engineering hub, where all of our QA and Engineering roles have a 'remote first\' policy with an expected 2 days per month in the office, or more days in the office if preferred.

Accountabilities

In this role you will be expected to:

• Execute the testing of business applications by developing, publishing and implementing test plans for complex commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) applications, such as Salesforce.com, Conga Composer, Eloqua and Cvent .
• Execute functional and Non-Functional testing (GUI, Usability, Compatibility, Performance security)
• Execute the internal regression testing process to ensure no existing business functionality is affected by feature development
• Work closely with our vendors to analyse and improve existing procedures defined within their development lifecycle
• Uphold test standards, ensuring all audit requirements are met
• Test documentation creation and maintenance (test plans, test cases, and checklists)
• Create reports on test results and software product quality
• Execute test estimation
• Liaise with the development team and key business users in Agile development projects - attending scrum review meeting and develop targeted test plans and cases
• Work with developers to help them become better testers
• Ensure your testing approach will be exploratory and risk-based, favouring the discovery and communication of information over the creation of test artifact
• Helping define and roll out improvements to testing and quality processes across both a tech team and wider company
• Work towards more efficient ways of testing using the best tools/methodologies.

Experience, skills and professional attributes

To succeed in this role you must demonstrate:

• Ability to develop and maintain automated test suites which reduce our time to deliver without impacting quality.
• In-depth experience of test planning, analysis, and scripting
• Experience of testing within an Agile environment, adapting quickly to changing situations
• You can lead testing efforts, execution, and reporting, across multiple concurrent projects.
• You are an experienced QA Engineer, with previous experience of large scale applications, who understands that testing is far more than just checking it works.
• You are a champion of quality and understand how it can be improved at every stage of software development.
• You have the ability to define and iterate a test approach.

• You can use project management and issue tracking tools including Atlassian Confluence, Atlassian JIRA, and TestRail
• You have experience in programming languages, hopefully Javascript or Java
• You have experience with Selenium type automation tooling, perhaps Cypress.

• ISEB Foundation qualification (desired)

• Experience with SalesForce unit testing knowledge, and Salesforce out of the box
