Position: Purchase Manager - Garments/ Fashion Industry Experience: 3 to 4 Years in Purchase in Garments/Fashion Industry only Location: Saltlake Sec 3, Kolkata Age Limit: Within 35 years Overview: We are looking for a skilled Purchase Manager with 2 to 3 years of experience in the retail and fashion industry to join our dynamic team. The Purchase Manager will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing goods and services to ensure the smooth operation of our retail and fashion business. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of procurement processes, excellent negotiation skills, and a passion for the retail and fashion industry. Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement procurement strategies to meet the company\'s objectives for quality, cost, and delivery in the retail and fashion sector.
- Source suppliers and vendors for various product categories, including apparel, accessories, footwear, and other related merchandise.
- Negotiate terms and conditions with suppliers to secure favourable pricing, payment terms, and contract agreements.
- Evaluate supplier performance based on quality, reliability, delivery, and cost-effectiveness, and take corrective actions as necessary.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders, including merchandising, inventory management, and sales teams, to understand their requirements and ensure timely procurement of goods.
- Monitor inventory levels and demand forecasts to optimize inventory turnover and minimize stockouts or excess inventory.
- Conduct market research and stay updated on industry trends, pricing fluctuations, and emerging suppliers to identify new opportunities and potential risks.
- Manage the procurement process from requisition to delivery, including supplier selection, order placement, shipment tracking, and invoice reconciliation.
- Collaborate with logistics and warehouse teams to coordinate inbound shipments, customs clearance, and inventory storage.
- Maintain accurate records of procurement activities, including contracts, purchase orders, invoices, and supplier performance metrics.
- Bachelor\'s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
- 3 to 4 years of experience in procurement or purchasing roles, preferably in the retail and fashion industry.
- Strong understanding of procurement processes, sourcing strategies, and supplier management practices.
- Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to drive cost savings and favourable contract terms.
- Knowledge of retail and fashion trends, product categories, and market dynamics.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and ERP systems for procurement management.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to analyze data, identify patterns, and make informed decisions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external suppliers.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and quality in procurement documentation and processes.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, multitask effectively, and prioritize workload to meet deadlines.
