Position Overview: Studio Saddles is seeking a diligent and proactive Purchase Manager to join our team. The Purchase Manager will be responsible for procuring raw materials essential for the production of furniture and automotive seat covers. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in procurement, excellent negotiation skills, and the ability to travel as needed to ensure timely acquisition of materials. Key Responsibilities:
- Procurement Management:
- Identify and evaluate suppliers, negotiate contracts, and secure the best terms for the company.
- Ensure the timely procurement of high-quality raw materials required for furniture and automotive seat cover production.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure reliability and cost-effectiveness.
- Travel to various locations to source and procure materials as necessary.
- Coordinate logistics to ensure the smooth delivery of materials to the factory.
- Manage the procurement budget and ensure cost-effective purchasing practices.
- Keep accurate records of purchases, pricing, and other relevant information.
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with the production team to forecast future material needs.
- Ensure that inventory is maintained at optimal levels to support continuous production.
- Work closely with the quality control team to ensure that all materials meet the required standards and specifications.
- Address any quality issues promptly with suppliers to ensure product standards are upheld.
- Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies and industry regulations.
- Prepare regular reports on procurement activities, costs, and supplier performance for management review.
- Proven experience as a Purchase Manager or in a similar procurement role.
- Strong knowledge of sourcing and procurement techniques.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
- Ability to travel as required to procure materials.
- Own mode of transport (petrol reimbursement provided).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and procurement software.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently and make decisions in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of raw materials used in furniture and automotive seat cover production is a plus.
- Based at our factory in Jigani, with travel required to various supplier locations.
- Regular office hours, with flexibility for travel and procurement activities.
