Job Overview:
The Purchase Incharge will be responsible for overseeing the procurement activities of the organization. This includes sourcing and purchasing materials, goods, and services at competitive prices, ensuring timely delivery, maintaining inventory levels, and managing relationships with suppliers. The Purchase Incharge will play a critical role in ensuring smooth operations by managing the procurement process efficiently and effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
• Sourcing and Procurement :
• Identify and evaluate potential suppliers and vendors based on price, quality, and delivery time.
• Negotiate and finalize contracts, terms, and conditions with suppliers to ensure the best possible deals.
• Place orders for goods and services as per the company's requirements, ensuring timely delivery.
• Maintain an up-to-date database of suppliers and products.
• Inventory Management :
• Monitor and control stock levels, ensuring that inventory is replenished as required while avoiding overstocking.
• Work closely with inventory teams to ensure the accurate tracking of stock and goods.
• Supplier Relationship Management :
• Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure smooth operations and resolve any issues regarding deliveries or quality.
• Address supplier complaints and concerns promptly to maintain effective working relationships.
• Purchasing Strategy and Budgeting :
• Develop and implement purchasing strategies to optimize costs and improve purchasing efficiency.
• Work with the finance department to ensure procurement activities align with the company's budget and financial goals.
• Compliance and Documentation :
• Ensure compliance with company policies, industry standards, and legal regulations in procurement activities.
• Prepare and maintain accurate purchasing records, reports, and documentation for auditing purposes.
• Market Research :
• Stay updated with the latest trends and developments in the procurement market to ensure the company benefits from the best products and services.
• Team Coordination :
• Work closely with other departments, including finance, logistics, and production, to ensure timely and accurate delivery of goods and services.
• Supervise and train junior staff in procurement processes and systems.
Required Qualifications and Skills :
• Education :
• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• Experience :
• At least [3-5] years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management, preferably in [specific industry].
• Technical Skills :
• Strong knowledge of procurement software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, etc.) and MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
