Position: Purchase Executive

Industry: Real Estate / High Rise Construction

Job Location: Chennai

Key Responsibilities:

Procurement Planning and Strategy:

Develop and implement procurement strategies in line with project requirements and company policies.

Forecast demand for materials and services, ensuring availability to meet project timelines.

Supplier Management:

Identify, evaluate, and establish relationships with suppliers and subcontractors.

Conduct market research to stay updated with industry trends and new suppliers.

Negotiate terms, prices, and contracts with suppliers to secure the best deals without compromising quality.

Purchase Order Management:

Prepare and process purchase orders and requisitions for materials, equipment, and services.

Monitor order status and ensure timely delivery in accordance with project schedules.

Inventory Control:

Maintain optimal inventory levels to prevent shortages or excess.

Coordinate with warehouse staff to manage inventory receipts and storage.

Quality Assurance:

Ensure that purchased materials meet the required quality standards and specifications.

Handle any discrepancies or issues related to the quality of materials received.

Budget Management:

Work within the allocated budget and seek cost-saving opportunities without compromising on quality.

Prepare reports on procurement activities, including cost analysis and supplier performance.

Documentation and Compliance:

Maintain accurate records of all procurement activities, contracts, and correspondences.

Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements related to procurement.

Coordination and Communication:

Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to understand material needs and specifications.

Communicate effectively with suppliers and internal teams to resolve any procurement-related issues.

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.

Experience: 5-10 years of experience in procurement, preferably in the real estate or construction industry.

Skills:

Strong negotiation and communication skills.

Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.

Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.

Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

Knowledge:

Understanding of construction materials and their specifications.

Familiarity with legal and regulatory aspects of procurement in the construction industry.
