Job Definition :
The Purchase Executive is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and procuring raw materials and components essential for Pre-Engineered Buildings (PEB). This includes managing vendor relationships, ensuring timely deliveries, maintaining inventory levels, and controlling costs to support production schedules while adhering to quality standards and company policies.
Roles and Responsiblities :
Procurement Operations:
Identify and procure raw materials such as steel, fasteners, roofing sheets, insulation, and other materials used in PEB manufacturing.
Ensure timely and cost-effective procurement in line with production schedules.
Vendor Management:
Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers to ensure the best quality and cost for materials.
Develop and maintain relationships with existing vendors and onboard new suppliers to expand the vendor base.
Conduct vendor audits and ensure compliance with quality standards.
Cost Control:
Work with the Concerned/other departments and maintain procurement budgets.
Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and delivery schedules to optimize costs.
Inventory Management:
Coordinate with the warehouse and production teams to monitor stock levels and avoid overstocking or shortages.
Implement and maintain proper inventory tracking and replenishment systems.
Quality Assurance:
Collaborate with the Quality Control team to ensure all purchased materials meet required specifications and standards.
Address and resolve issues related to defective or non-compliant materials.
Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain accurate procurement records, including purchase orders, invoices, and delivery receipts.
Generate reports on procurement activities, cost savings, and vendor performance.
Market Analysis:
Stay updated on market trends, material price fluctuations, and availability.
Develop strategies to mitigate risks associated with supply chain disruptions.
Compliance:
Ensure all procurement activities align with company policies, legal standards, and ethical practices.
Key Skills:
• Strong negotiation and communication skills.
• Knowledge of steel grades, roofing materials, and other PEB-related raw materials.
• Familiarity with procurement tools and ERP systems.
• Analytical skills for cost optimization and supplier evaluation.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and work under tight deadlines.
Qualifications and Experience:
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 3-4 Years of Experience in procurement, required in PEB, steel, or construction-related industries.
