Key Responsibilities:
• Procurement Management:
• Source and purchase construction materials, equipment, and services in accordance with project requirements, specifications, and budgets.
• Ensure timely and cost-effective procurement of all construction-related goods and services.
• Maintain and manage relationships with suppliers and vendors, ensuring strong communication and effective service delivery.
• Negotiate with suppliers to obtain the best possible terms, prices, and delivery schedules for all procurement items.
• Maintain an updated list of approved suppliers and vendors for construction materials, tools, and services.
• Inventory and Stock Management:
• Track inventory levels of materials and supplies to ensure that stock is available when required without overstocking.
• Maintain proper documentation of materials ordered, received, and used in the project.
• Monitor material usage rates and ensure that there is no wastage.
• Order Management:
• Prepare purchase orders for materials and equipment as per project requirements.
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and site teams to ensure that all materials required for construction are ordered on time.
• Ensure that all orders are delivered according to agreed timelines and specifications.
• Follow up with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of goods and address any delays or issues.
• Supplier and Vendor Relationship Management:
• Research and identify new suppliers to expand the supplier base and ensure competitive pricing and quality.
• Evaluate supplier performance regularly in terms of quality, cost, and delivery time.
• Resolve any supplier issues, including delays, damaged goods, or discrepancies in orders.
• Monitor supplier contract terms to ensure compliance and maintain records of all procurement contracts.
• Cost Control:
• Assist in preparing and managing project budgets related to procurement activities.
• Ensure all procurement activities are completed within the allocated budget.
• Maintain cost records and work on strategies for cost-saving and optimizing procurement processes.
• Documentation and Reporting:
• Ensure that all procurement documents, including purchase orders, supplier quotations, contracts, and delivery notes, are maintained and organized.
• Provide regular reports on procurement activities, including stock levels, supplier performance, and cost analysis.
• Prepare and submit reports on inventory, purchase orders, and material requisitions as required by senior management.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of [X] years of experience in procurement or purchasing, preferably within the construction industry.
