As a Purchase Executive specializing in OSD (Oral Solid Dosage) Pharmaceuticals, you will play a crucial role in procuring raw materials, equipment, and services necessary for the manufacturing and operational needs of the organization. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure timely and cost-effective procurement while maintaining high standards of quality and compliance with relevant regulations. Roles and Responsibilities:
- Sourcing and Vendor Management:
- Identify, evaluate, and select suitable vendors and suppliers for raw materials, packaging materials, equipment, and services required for OSD pharmaceutical manufacturing.
- Negotiate terms and conditions, pricing, and contracts with vendors to secure favorable agreements while maintaining quality and compliance standards.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors to ensure reliable and timely delivery of materials and services.
- Procurement Planning:
- Collaborate with production and planning teams to forecast material requirements and develop procurement plans to meet production schedules.
- Monitor inventory levels and reorder points to prevent stockouts and ensure uninterrupted production.
- Quality Assurance and Compliance:
- Ensure that all procured materials and services meet the required quality standards and specifications.
- Work closely with the quality assurance team to conduct supplier audits, qualify new vendors, and address quality issues.
- Cost Management:
- Implement cost-saving initiatives and strategies to optimize procurement costs without compromising on quality or compliance.
- Conduct price analysis, benchmarking, and market research to identify cost-saving opportunities and alternative suppliers.
- Documentation and Record Keeping:
- Maintain accurate records of procurement activities, including purchase orders, contracts, invoices, and correspondence with vendors.
- Ensure compliance with internal procurement policies and procedures as well as relevant regulatory requirements.
- Communication and Coordination:
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including production, quality assurance, finance, and logistics, to coordinate procurement activities and ensure alignment with organizational goals.
- Communicate effectively with vendors regarding order specifications, delivery schedules, and any changes or issues that may arise.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Identify areas for process improvement within the procurement function and implement best practices to streamline processes, increase efficiency, and enhance overall effectiveness.
- Stay updated on industry trends, market conditions, and regulatory changes affecting procurement practices in the pharmaceutical industry.
- Bachelor\'s degree in Pharmacy, Chemistry, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.
- Previous experience in procurement or supply chain management within the pharmaceutical industry, with specific experience in OSD pharmaceuticals preferred.
- Knowledge of pharmaceutical manufacturing processes, materials, and regulations (e.g., cGMP, FDA requirements).
- Strong negotiation skills, attention to detail, and analytical abilities.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications and familiarity with procurement software/systems.
