Key Responsibilities:
  • Curriculum Development and Implementation:
  • Develop and implement effective lesson plans and instructional materials that align with the school curriculum and educational standards.
  • Cover a range of psychological topics, theories, and research methods appropriate for the grade level.
  • Integrate contemporary issues, case studies, and practical applications into lessons to enhance student learning.
  • Instruction and Classroom Management:
  • Deliver engaging and interactive lessons that promote critical thinking and analytical skills among students.
  • Utilize a variety of teaching strategies, including lectures, discussions, demonstrations, and experiential learning activities.
  • Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment conducive to learning.
  • Student Assessment and Evaluation:
  • Develop and administer assessments, tests, and quizzes to evaluate student understanding and mastery of psychological concepts.
  • Provide constructive feedback to students on their academic performance and areas for improvement.
  • Maintain accurate records of student grades, attendance, and other relevant data.
  • Individualized Support:
  • Identify students who may need additional support or enrichment and provide personalized instruction and assistance.
  • Collaborate with counselors, special educators, and parents to address the academic and social-emotional needs of students.
  • Implement strategies to support students with diverse learning styles and abilities.
  • Parent and Guardian Communication:
  • Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress, behavior, and academic performance.
  • Participate in parent-teacher conferences and meetings to discuss student development and achievements.
  • Provide resources and recommendations to parents on how to support their child's learning and well-being.
  • Professional Development:
  • Engage in continuous professional development to stay updated on the latest developments in psychology education, research, and pedagogy.
  • Participate in workshops, seminars, and training programs to enhance teaching skills and knowledge.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and innovative teaching strategies.
  • Extracurricular Involvement:
  • Support and participate in school activities, clubs, and events related to psychology and social sciences.
  • Encourage student participation in psychology-related competitions, research projects, and extracurricular opportunities.
  • Organize and supervise field trips and experiential learning activities related to psychology.
  • Administrative Duties:
  • Assist in the development and implementation of school policies, procedures, and curriculum frameworks.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, faculty meetings, and school committees.
  • Contribute to the overall academic planning and development of the school.
Qualifications:
  • Education:
  • Masters degree or higher in Psychology or a related field with a specialization in educational psychology or counseling psychology.
  • Teaching certification or licensure for secondary education.
  • Experience:
  • Previous teaching experience in psychology at the secondary or high school level is preferred.
  • Experience in curriculum development, assessment, and instructional design.
