Job Summary :
The Psychologist will provide specialized assessments, therapeutic interventions, and
comprehensive support for individuals diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder (ASD),
Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Down syndrome, and other severe
developmental or psychological conditions. The role requires collaboration with a
multidisciplinary team to develop individualized treatment plans, monitor progress, and
ensure high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities :
1. Patient Assessment and Diagnosis:
o Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments, including cognitive,
behavioral, and emotional evaluations.
o Utilize standardized diagnostic tools and techniques to assess conditions
such as ASD, ADHD, Down syndrome, and other severe developmental
disorders.
o Prepare detailed assessment reports and communicate findings to families
and relevant team members.
2. Therapeutic Interventions:
o Develop and implement individualized therapy plans tailored to each patient's
unique needs and diagnosis.
o Provide evidence-based therapies, including cognitive-behavioral therapy
(CBT), play therapy, and behavioral modification techniques.
o Use behavioral intervention strategies to promote adaptive skills and reduce
maladaptive behaviors in children and adults.
3. Family Support and Counseling:
o Educate and counsel family members to support the treatment process and
promote a holistic approach to patient care.
o Provide training for caregivers on managing specific behaviors, fostering
independence, and supporting the development of social skills.
o Facilitate family and group therapy sessions as required.
4. Case Management and Documentation:
o Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient progress, including
treatment goals, interventions, and outcomes.
o Coordinate with a multidisciplinary team, including occupational therapists,
speech therapists, and special educators, to monitor patient progress and
adjust treatment plans as necessary.
o Participate in regular case discussions and team meetings to ensure
integrated care for all patients.
5. Professional Development and Training:
o Stay updated with current research, therapeutic techniques, and best
practices in the fields of ASD, ADHD, Down syndrome, and other severe
developmental conditions.
o Attend workshops, training sessions, and professional development
opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
o Provide mentorship and guidance to junior psychologists, interns, and support
staff as required.
Qualifications:
? Education: Master's degree in Psychology, preferably with a specialization in Clinical
Psychology.
? Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience in a rehabilitation setting, specifically
with ASD, ADHD, Down syndrome, or other severe cases.
? Skills:
o Proficiency in psychological assessment tools.
o Strong therapeutic and communication skills.
o Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
? Certifications: Relevant state licensure or certification as a practicing psychologist.
Preferred Skills:
? Knowledge of applied behavioral analysis (ABA) techniques.
? Experience in family and caregiver counseling.
? Familiarity with sensory integration therapy, especially beneficial for ASD cases.
