### Key Responsibilities:
• Patient Assessment:
+ Conduct comprehensive evaluations of patients, including medical history, mental status examination, and psychosocial assessments.
+ Utilize diagnostic tools and tests to aid in diagnosis.
• Diagnosis:
+ Diagnose mental, emotional, and behavioral disorders based on patient assessments, medical history, and diagnostic tests.
+ Develop differential diagnoses and consider potential comorbidities.
• Treatment Planning:
+ Create individualized treatment plans tailored to each patient's needs.
+ Prescribe medications and monitor their effects, adjusting dosages as necessary.
+ Provide psychotherapy, including cognitive-behavioral therapy, psychoanalysis, and other therapeutic modalities.
• Patient Management:
+ Monitor patients' progress and response to treatment.
+ Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including psychologists, social workers, and primary care physicians, to provide comprehensive care.
+ Educate patients and their families about mental health conditions, treatment options, and coping strategies.
• Crisis Intervention:
+ Provide emergency psychiatric care and crisis intervention when necessary.
+ Evaluate and manage patients experiencing acute psychiatric crises, including those at risk of self-harm or harm to others.
• Documentation:
+ Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records, including treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries.
+ Ensure compliance with legal, ethical, and regulatory standards in patient care.
• Professional Development:
+ Stay current with advancements in psychiatry through continuing medical education, research, and professional development activities.
+ Participate in peer review, case conferences, and other professional activities.
