We are looking for a competent Event Manager to oversee and organize events that will make an impact on a target audience. You\xe2\x80\x99ll ensure events are successful and cost-effective, paying attention to budget and time constraints.An event manager is, above all, a project manager who understands marketing and promotion techniques. We want to see enthusiastic candidates with fresh ideas and the organizational skills required to not leave anything about an event to chance.Responsibilities

• Plan and manage events from start to finish, ensuring every detail aligns with our objectives and exceeds expectations.
• Source, negotiate, and coordinate with vendors and suppliers to ensure seamless event execution.
• Coordinate and manage guest lists, ensuring a welcoming and engaging experience for all attendees.
• Prepare and manage budgets, ensuring all financial aspects are handled efficiently and transparently.
• Foster and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, vendors, and guests.
• Ideate and implement strategies to enhance event success and streamline processes.
• Be open to traveling to other cities as required for event planning and execution.
• Communicate effectively with guests, vendors, and team members, ensuring clarity and professionalism at all times.
• Be inquisitive and open to learning new skills such as marketing, design, digital operations, and more.
• Assist in coordinating and managing speakers and work closely with the event agency for TEDxGateway.

• Proven experience in event management or project management.
• Excellent organizational and project management skills.
• Strong communication and negotiation abilities.
• Proficiency in tech tools and software such as G Suite, Airtable, Luma, Notion, and ChatGPT.
• A knack for problem-solving and a results-oriented mindset.
• Ability to work well under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Customer-service orientation and a team player.
• Leadership skills, showcasing traits of a leader even without prior team leadership experience.
• Must have 2-3 years of work experience managing projects/events on the ground and showcased successful execution.
• Well-spoken and fluent in English.
• Well-dressed and presentable.
• Enthusiastic with fresh ideas and a proactive approach.
• Inquisitive and keen to learn and upskill in various areas.
• BSc/BA in PR, marketing, hospitality management, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.
