PROJECT MANAGER (CIVIL)

The key duties of a project manager include:

• Planning the project
• Leading the team
• Executing the project
• Managing schedules
• Overseeing the budget
• Preparing documents
• Maintaining and troubleshooting deliverables

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Project Planning and Coordination:
• Develop comprehensive project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resources needed.
• Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution.
• Prepare and present progress reports to senior management and clients.
• Team Management:
• Lead, motivate, and manage project teams to meet deadlines and quality standards.
• Supervise site staff, including engineers, technicians, and labor teams.
• Organize training and development activities for staff to improve skills and performance.
• Budget and Cost Control:
• Develop and monitor project budgets, ensuring projects are completed within financial limits.
• Manage procurement and allocation of resources, including materials and labor.
• Ensure cost-saving measures are implemented without compromising quality.
• Quality Control and Safety:
• Oversee the implementation of quality control processes to ensure compliance with engineering standards and specifications.
• Monitor safety protocols on-site to ensure a safe working environment and compliance with local health and safety regulations.
• Conduct regular safety audits and inspections.
• Risk Management:
• Identify potential project risks (financial, environmental, technical) and implement mitigation strategies.
• Proactively resolve issues and unforeseen challenges that may arise during project execution.
• Communication and Reporting:
• Maintain regular communication with clients, consultants, and senior management regarding project updates, concerns, and changes.
• Ensure all documentation, including reports, contracts, change orders, and correspondence, is accurate and up to date.
• Conduct project meetings with clients and stakeholders to discuss progress and resolve any issues.
• Time Management and Scheduling:
• Develop and manage project schedules, ensuring milestones and deadlines are met.
• Oversee resource allocation and adjust schedules as needed to maintain project timelines.
• Compliance and Documentation:
• Ensure all project work is conducted according to legal, environmental, and contractual obligations.
• Maintain detailed records of project changes, approvals, and inspections for compliance purposes.
• Client Relationship Management:
• Act as the main point of contact for clients, ensuring their needs and expectations are met.
• Resolve client concerns and complaints in a professional and timely manner to ensure high satisfaction.
• Post-Project Evaluation:
• Conduct post-project evaluations to assess performance, document lessons learned, and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Oversee the handover of completed projects, ensuring all documentation and warranties are provided.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field (Master's preferred).
• 18+ years of experience in project management within the construction industry.
• Strong knowledge of construction management processes, techniques, and best practices.
• Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: From ?50,000.00 per month
