Project Manager - Sustainability

Position Overview

The main purpose of this role is to be responsible for the design, execution, monitoring, reporting and stakeholder engagement of any projects/initiatives related to the implementation of the strategy. The secondary purpose of this role is to assist the Director of Agriculture to develop XXX\'s Sustainability Strategy whilst ensuring alignment within the scope of overall Purpose Led Performance program and growth initiatives.

• Driving the design, implementation & oversight of Sustainability & Donor supported initiatives that would not only deliver on 2020, 2025 and 2030 Purpose Led Performance Targets but also ensure long term sustainability of supply, MRL compliance and complement XXX budget for PLP delivery

• - Support XXX\'s Director of Agriculture to craft Lead the design of sustainability strategies that would help to achieve Purpose Led Performance Targets for vanilla, black pepper, cinnamon and other iconics assigned
• - In collaboration with the sourcing teams and business needs, support the development develop annual sustainability implementation plans & budgets tied to business growth objectives & outcomes.
• - Responsible for the execution & implementation of all plans to ensure intended outcomes are reached on plan and on budget.
• - Responsible for systematic monitoring & frequent reporting on progress for all plans to XXX\'s leadership team as well as relevant internal & external stakeholders.
• - Provide direct oversight to XXX\'s consultant in Vietnam in coordination with Procurement and Supply Integrity leadership, including the design of her terms of reference, coordination, reporting and performance assessments. Provide progress report to XXX leadership quarterly.
• - Lead the identification and scoping of the next wave of PLP iconic for action annually.
• - In coordination with the Associate Sustainability Manager, drive the design and integration of livelihoods and gender initiatives in the sustainable sourcing programs.
• Support the digitalization of the data capture from Farmer Support Programs through Farmforce and its dashboard integration for internal reporting and trending for continuous improvement.

• Develop & Manage stakeholder engagement initiatives to help scale up/fast-track Purpose Led Performance ambitions.

• - Leverage strategic relationship with vendors, NGO partners and donors to mobilize in-country engagement through vendor sustainability/ag teams
• - Lead donor community engagement in all origin countries to galvanize direct donor & customer support/engagement to directly benefit McCormick Purpose Led Performance projects in the form of accelerated implementation, exponential multiplication of impact or sustained cost savings.
• - Develop & Coordinate project proposals for new sustainability initiates which includes managing all donor grant submission/approval processes.
• - Explore new innovative funding opportunities that are aligned to the business needs. For example, direct customer sustainability engagement initiatives.
• Foster and support BU led employee sustainability engagement in region and origin countries

Required Qualifications

Qualifications

Description

Level of Education and Discipline

Master\'s degree

Agroforestry, Sustainable development, Value Chain Specialization, Social Science, Environmental Science, Climate Change Resilience

Certification and/or Licenses

Experience - functional/industry/commercial knowledge, business acumen

10-15 years\' project management experience in relevant developing countries with focus on agricultural value chain development/sustainability.

• Farm level Agricultural expertise

Specific experience on spice commodities project work would be an advantage.

Primary processing and drying/dehydration experience

Track record of working with donors considered an advantage

Interpersonal Skills - leadership, interactions, communication, influence

Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English will be required to enable effective communication up down and across the organization - Sustainability Partners, Suppliers, Communications, Regulatory, Finance, Legal, Occasional

Works within well-defined procedures that may involve a variety of work routines. Expected to resolve problems by identifying and selecting solutions through the application of acquired technical experience and will be guided by precedents.
