Job Description


We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Datacenter Lead to join our Systems Data Center team in Hyderabad. The team is responsible for the design, build, and coverage of firmwide critical infrastructure, including data centers, and machine rooms. This is a hands-on management role and offers the opportunity to be part of an inclusive, collaborative, and engaging working environment. What you\'ll do day-to-day In this role, you will supervise and provide guidance to data center technicians, oversee the daily operations of the data center, ensuring smooth functioning and adherence to standard procedures, and monitor and prioritize daily workflow to ensure timely completion of tasks. You will also be responsible for racking, building, installing, and troubleshooting servers, storage, and networking equipment in the data center. You will identify and implement enhancements to processes and policies while collaborating with global teams and vendors to identify, diagnose, and resolve technical and non-technical issues. Additionally, you will maintain accurate documentation of actions and resolutions in internal tools, adhere to standard data center processes and ensure high standards of cabling and labeling, provide on-call support during on- and off-hours, including weekends, and complete required updates in DCIM (Data Center Infrastructure Management) and inventory management systems. You will also be responsible for overseeing DC capacity management, which includes both managing daily requirements and forecasting future needs through effective communication and collaboration with other infrastructure teams. Who we\'re looking for Candidates with 8 to 12 years of relevant experience managing teams and operations within a data center environment The candidate should have a good understanding of hardware, software, electrical power, and peripheral equipment The ideal candidate should have knowledge of various cable and connector types, such as fiber optic and twisted pair The candidate should be familiar with different operating systems and system tools, including Windows/Linux and Cisco IOS Ideal candidate should have experience with manufacturer-specific hardware and tools, such as Dell iDRAC and Cisco CIMC The ideal candidate should have excellent troubleshooting skills, including the ability to diagnose and fix hardware failures and network issues Candidate should have hands-on experience in a data center The candidate should have excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks The candidate should have effective communication skills, both written and verbal Candidate should be flexible in their working hours, including evenings and weekends At theD.E.Shaw group, we believe the diversity of our employees is core to our strength and success.
