In India, the burden of maternal anemia is particularly severe, with more than half of pregnant women affected. Anemia during pregnancy not only increases the risk of maternal morbidity and mortality but also jeopardizes the health and survival of newborns.The Maternal Anemia Project, with a specific focus on the states of Meghalaya, is designed to tackle this critical issue by reducing the incidence of moderate and severe anemia among pregnant and lactating women (PLWs). The project involves a multi-faceted approach that works in close collaboration with state and district-level government authorities to ensure targeted, sustainable interventions. The successful reduction of maternal anemia through this project has the potential to significantly lower the rates of maternal and newborn morbidity and mortality. Healthier mothers are more likely to have safer pregnancies and healthier babies, thereby contributing to overall improvements in maternal and child health outcomes in the target regions.About the positionPATH is seeking a Project Implementation Officer on third party payroll (Randstad) for this project.Responsibilities:Design and implementation of the project at district level in collaboration with state project lead.Facilitation of deliverables in the project, obtain necessary government approvals and from relevant government authorities as appropriate to address the proper implementation.Monitor the technical aspects of ongoing project activities through field visits, meetings with government officials, field level healthcare providers, community stakeholders and partners.Coordinate with division/district officials and partners for various activities related to project. Work in close coordination with district authorities to implement project activities.Maintain documentation, prepare reports, document case studies, presentations, and best practices.Support Anemia Mukt Bharat-related activities at the district levelSupport district level, deployment, training, of HCWs for improving the anemia interventions within the district.Organize and build capacity related to maternal anemia in the district(s).Building capacity of the district officials and strengthen existing systems for data collection, quality assurance, analysis and reporting on activity outputs/outcomes and program.Maintain database for capturing the programmatic data and maintenance of queries and programs for analysis and related reports.Model PATHxe2x80x99s values and people philosophy.Any other work assigned as per the project requirement.Required Experience and qualifications:Education: Post-graduation in Public Health/ Social work or equivalent from reputed university.Experience: At least 3 years of related experience in training and project implementation in public health settings. Preferably having 1-2 yearsxe2x80x99 experience of working in Maternal Health (MCH) and anemia projects. Previous experience of working with state and district officials is an added advantage.Proficient at data management using MS Office.Experience in a similar role is highly desirable.Experience in working with the development sector/ INGOs would be preferred.Excellent ability to articulate oral and written technical information clearly and effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences and demonstrated track record of producing high quality, well-written deliverables in a timely fashion.Other Skills/ AbilitiesProfessional proficiency in English, Hindi, with good oral and written communications skills required. Understanding local languages like Khasi/ Garo/ Pnar will be added advantage.Ability to produce documents and coordinate activities independently.Ability to handle a variety of assignments under pressure of deadlines.Familiarity with the Indian public health system.Excellent organizational skills required.Willingness and flexibility to work on a wide range of tasks and travel up to 60% of the time.Ability to manage multiple tasks, set priorities, work independently, and maintain a high level of accountability.Ability to work as part of a team.Location: Meghalaya (Districts TBD)Duration: 31st December 2026PATH is dedicated to building an inclusive workforce where diversity is valued.PATH is an equal opportunity employer.
