Position Summary :

The Project Engineer will manage, direct, and coordinate all aspects of assigned package and is responsible for the successful delivery of individual projects within specified budget and schedule. The Project Engineer will work closely with the Project manager to develop project management systems. He will be responsible for preparation, scheduling, installation, commissioning, coordinating, and monitoring assigned projects, interacting daily with internal stake holders & external vendors and update status to project manager, visits to sites for installation, commissioning and troubleshooting for short- and long-term projects as required by project. He will support in contract negotiations and physical site delivery of the delivery package nature of small, medium, and large capacities. Project scope may include mechanical utility equipment and services, process equipment, packing equipment, refrigeration, steam generation, WWT & RO plant.

Responsibilities and Accountabilities :

Functional Competencies:
• Good exposure and experience understanding of schedule in MS Project, Auto-Cad drawings and layouts.
• Project site executions including process equipment installation, commissioning and Validation.
• Knowledge of process, packing and utility equipment in FMCG industry.
• Knowledge of mechanical utilities - steam, water and air system and its piping.
• Knowledge of mechanical utility equipment - Boiler, refrigeration, air compressors, pumps.
• Capable of understanding P&ID, Construction drawings, plant and equipment layout - elevations.
• Coordination with OEM for finalization of equipment and relevant utilities.
• Coordination with Tech Service department and prepare P&ID.
• Coordination work with mechanical consultant and contractors.
• Co-ordinate with consultant for construction drawings & verify it on site.
• Supervision of mechanical contractor's work on daily basis.
• Quality check of mechanical installation as per McCain standards.
• Update Project manager for ongoing work on daily basis & update on critical paths of schedule.
• Verify McCain standards for the installation and follow up for equipment arrival on time.
• Knowledge of safety standards and experience of getting it executed by site employees and site contractors.
Project Management
Project Execution:
• Preparation of Project Execution Plan & Scheduling of Activities.
• Implementation of execution plans & schedules & day to day monitoring of project activities, Supervising, monitoring, inspecting, measurement verification & Clearance of bills of Vendors & Contractors, i.e. Mechanical and piping contractors, HVAC contractors, Civil Contractors etc.
• Inventory & Cost Monitoring & Control
• Preparing defective & punch list on the work executed by the contractors & ensuring
• Rectification work is done to the accepted standards.
• Inspect, verify & ensure the quality standards prescribed by the consultant are carried out by all the contractors
Qualifications & Validation of Equipment & Systems:
• Review & Verification of Design Qualifications.
• FAT for equipment & systems.
• Execution of Installation & Operational Qualifications.
• Preparation of SOP, Setting up operational parameters & limits.
• Review & verification of Performance Qualification
Safety
• Ensure all tasks are undertaken safely with appropriate PPE & procedures by self and by assigned electricians, mechanical fitters etc. working under him
• Adhere to safe work practices such as working at height regulations
• Ensure equipment is correctly isolated (LOTO) when maintenance is carried out
• Report any safety or property loss incident to relevant persons in the safety organization and Manager as per company procedures
• Identify & report and plan corrective and preventive action for unsafe working conditions / machine faults
• Plan & execute plant improvements to enhance safety standards
• Carry out regular safety inspections in all areas of the plant like BOS etc for areas under his supervision
General
• Entrusting the responsibility and time schedules to project staff like draftsman, welders, electricians etc.
• Ensuring and conducting training programs for employee and contract labor staff at regular intervals involving safety (like LOTO), technical Information and other engineering related issues
• Identifying and implementing strategies for building team effectiveness by promoting a spirit of cooperation between team members
• Communicate project staff under him on their performance, recognizing achievements & shortfalls, Manage the workload of subordinates & ensure that engineering staff are sufficiently skilled & trained
• International Travel: Willingness/ desire to travel to overseas manufacturing locations and is required.
• Flexible with working hours - i.e. may stay late one day and go early the next.
