Position: Project Engineer_CivilLocation: ChennaiThe Project Engineer (Civil) is responsible for overseeing and managing construction, renovation, repair, and maintenance projects within the academic institution. This role ensures that all projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.PROJECT MANAGEMENTPlan, coordinate, and oversee all phases of construction, renovation, repair, and maintenance projects.Develop project timelines, budgets, and resource plans.Ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.DESIGNING AND PLANNINGReview project drawings, specifications, and derive cost estimates.Ensure compliance with relevant building codes, regulations, and standards.CONSTRUCTION SUPERVISIONOversee construction activities, ensuring work is carried out according to plans and specifications.Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress and quality of work.Resolve any issues or problems that arise during construction.MAINTENANCE AND REPAIRDevelop and implement maintenance and repair schedules for campus facilities.Coordinate and oversee repair and maintenance activities.Ensure all facilities are kept in good condition that meet safety standards.SAFETY AND COMPLIANCEEnsure all construction and maintenance activities comply with safety regulations and standards.Conduct safety inspections and audits.Implement and enforce safety protocols on all project sites.STAKEHOLDER COMMUNICATIONCommunicate regularly with academic staff, administration, and other stakeholders regarding project status and updates.Address any concerns or requests from stakeholders in a timely manner.Prepare and present project reports to senior management.DOCUMENTATION & SCHEDULINGDevelop and maintain detailed project schedules.Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to ensure timely completion of tasks.Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation, including daily logs, progress reports, and change orders.Ensure all records are properly filed and accessible.Qualifications:

• Diploma or Bachelor\'s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.

• Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in construction project management, or a similar role.

• Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and regulations.

• Excellent project management skills, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Proficiency in project management software and other relevant tools.

• Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
