We are currently seeking a passionate Project Analyst to take a lead role in supporting our Global Programs & Governance function by producing reports and carrying out detailed analysis of our project and portfolio data needed to inform and drive digital transformation as an important member of Thomson Reuters Labs in Bangalore.


In this role, you will have responsibility for providing assurance of overall project, program and portfolio performance as well as help to implement reporting standards and best practices across the Labs.

What do do es Thomson Reuters Labs do ? We experiment, build and deliver. We work with AI and Machine Learning as well as very large data sets to discover what new products, services, or analysis we can create for our customers. Thomson Reuters is most famous for the Reuters News agency. The company is also one of the leading sources of information for legal professionals, corporates and tax professionals. We have over 60,000 TBs worth of legal, regulatory, news and tax data.


Thomson Reuters Labs works across all business segments of Thomson Reuters to identify and build AI and Machine Learning solutions. In this role, you will be part of a diverse, agile and interdisciplinary innovation team located in Bangalore, collaborating with colleagues located in UK, Switzerland, Canada and US. By incorporating UX and Design Thinking principles with agile methodology, our team produces production grade software that can be validated with customers. You will work closely with our engineers, designers, data scientists and stakeholders to innovate by supporting and informing the teams with valuable data and analysis.

About the Role

In this opportunity as a Project Analyst, you will:

• Identify and Advise : Through objective, accurate, clear and concise business analysis and reporting you will identify general themes in project performance, highlight deviations from plan, and recommend actions to improve performance.
• Advise project managers, project and innovation leads on the creation of project reports and support the appropriate use of reporting tools such as Azure Dev Ops (ADO), ServiceNow, PowerBI and others as identified.
• Analyze the overall effectiveness of project management across the portfolio and identify and mitigate areas of risk.
• Develop and Deliver : You will develop well thought out and articulate analysis of our portfolio performance, and deliver objective, accurate, clear and concise reporting of trends in project performance and an effective analysis of risk management.
• Develop a consistent demand management process to be used across the Labs organization.
• Ensure prioritization and alignment of initiatives and that overall portfolio of projects meets Labs strategic and financial goals.
• Assist in establishing resource plans across the portfolio to successfully deliver the portfolio of projects working closely with Labs functional leaders in Science, Engineering and Design.

About You

You're a fit for the role of Project Analyst if you:

• Have 5-6 years of hands-on experience working with 3rd party reporting tools. Must haves include Advance Excel, PowerBI, Azure Dev Ops (ADO) with good to haves including JIRA, ServiceNow, Tableau, Snowflake, etc.
• Have built reports from scratch and have implemented the use RPA or other workflow automation tools/approaches.
• Know what an API is and how to connect systems together using API's or other connectors.
• Have programming experience related to systemizing and automating financial and/or project and portfolio reporting.
• Have data analyst training and experience.
