Title: Program ManagerLocation: New Delhi, India, with current and ongoing work authorizationSalary: CompetitivePosition: Full-time, until November 30, 2025, renewal subject to fundingPosted on: 28 November 2024Application deadline: 20 December 2024, 6 pm IST (applications will be reviewed as they are submitted)SUMMARY ROLEPxD is seeking a Program Manager to join the Digital Agriculture Project Management Unit (PMU), in partnership with the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare (MoA&FW). We are looking for a proactive self-starter with strong project management skills and the ability to engage with a diverse range of stakeholders. The ideal candidate will focus on scaling digital agricultural initiatives and designing solutions that are impactful and inclusive. A solid understanding of digital technology adoption and scaling through government channels is essential. If you are passionate about leveraging evidence, technology, and government partnerships to drive positive change in the agricultural sector, we encourage you to apply.Responsibilities:The role will evolve with your growth and development, but initially, you will focus on the following key responsibilities:Relationship Management:

  • Lead relationship management with external partners, including communication with project donors.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships at key levels within the Ministry of Agriculture.
  • Oversee public relations, networking, and publicity efforts to enhance the PMU's visibility and impact.
Strategic Communication:
  • Develop and manage briefs, reports, presentations, and other project communication materials.
  • Design toolkits, frameworks, and templates to streamline project execution and enhance stakeholder engagement.
  • Oversee project contracts, grants and sub-partner monitoring activities.
  • Work with functional leads to define PMU strategy, KPIs, and impact; support the socialization of these within PMU, PxD, and external audiences.
  • Contribute to PxD institutional knowledge management, internal learning, and general operational activities.
Project Management:
  • Own end-to-end project implementation, including work plans, stakeholder communications, and budgets.
  • Coordinate across research, technology, and program teams to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Apply evidence-based insights to support Ministry of Agriculture initiatives and ensure data-driven alignment.
  • Oversee day-to-day project operations, ensuring efficient execution.
  • Foster a team culture focused on continuous improvement.
  • Supervise and mentor junior team members, supporting their growth and development.

We welcome candidates with a background in:
  • MBA/MPP, Bachelor's degree or an industry-relevant equivalent qualification.
  • Proven experience as the manager leading large programs and/or bringing individual projects to scale.
  • Experience with developing partnerships, communications and outreach.
  • Experience hiring and supporting a high-performance team.
  • Experience incorporating evidence gathered via research into user-centric program delivery, driving a culture of continuous innovation.
