Job Description

• Bachelor's degree in BI, finance, engineering, statistics, data science and decisions, computer science, mathematics, finance or equivalent quantitative field.
• Experience in analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc.
• Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools
• Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines
• Experience using SQL to pull data from a database or data warehouse and scripting experience (Python) to process data for modeling
• Intermediate level knowledge of Python
• Knowledge and skills of Microsoft Excel (macros, pivots, lookups) at an advanced level and data mining, data management, reporting, and SQL queries and understanding of database systems, data visualization tools including Tableau/QuickSight/PowerBI, with advanced skills in Excel VBA macros, formulas, and data visualization.
• Experience implementing repeatable processes and driving automation or standardization

AWS Data Center APJC Construction Program team is seeking a highly enthusiastic, motivated, and customer facing Program Manager to innovate, develop and manage a project dashboard to enable the BI reporting at the project and program level to provide the visibility on time and cost leading indicators. Program manager will create new programs that improve our efficiency in the high volume and fast paced delivery environment. This Program Manager role requires strong Business Intelligence experiences and skills, communicating well to managers, peers and team members, both within their immediate department, as well as with other departments and business partners to drive effective and sustainable dashboard reporting and provide accurate analysis summary to inform the leadership on the business decisions.



Program Manager (APJC Construction Program) is an individual contributor reporting to the APJC Construction Program Lead. You will work within a diverse and creative team solving fascinating problems constructing Amazon Data Centers. You will support the APJC Construction Program Lead and work with SMEs and Construction Managers delivering data center capacity to support Amazon's growth in the APJC region.



Our Data Center Construction team owns and drives the construction life cycle from constructability, proposal development, bid analysis, award, to managing the onsite construction work. This position is based in Mumbai and involves regular travel (up to 20% of the time) to other locations in the region



The Program Manager will be ultimately responsible for ensuring the development, training, management and support of a consolidated and scalable dashboard in Tableau, Quicksight, Smartsheet or any other BI software when required by the business. The program management team will provide the centralized support to Construction Managers (CMs) on preconstruction services, project controls (time, cost, quality and safety), administration tasks, systems, programs, processes, SOPs, templates and dashboards.



The role may be undertaken in Sydney or Tokyo.



Key job responsibilities

• Developing a centralized BI dashboard function at the project level to support project progress tracking, including cashflow and EVM.
• Developing a centralized dashboard function at the program level to report the high level outlook at the country, cluster and regional level to provide the leadership with the visibility on the program progress.
• Providing various systems and administration support including propriety
• Working with the Data Engineering team to deep dive the backend data and filters.
• Liaising with AMER and EMEA counterparts to drive the global alignment.
• Working with CMs to ensure the data integrity when entering into relevant front end platforms.
• Identifying gaps and creating system SOPs to drive efficiencies and reduce level of efforts (LOEs) on repeating and overlapping data entries, eliminate non-value-add activities, removing blockers, and driving automation.
• Developing audit and compliance mechanism to ensure the data integrity.
• Gathering data across clusters to support reporting, including scope, schedule, budget, resources, quality and risk management, reporting and metric development/tracking;
• Creating and delivering training and onboarding programs on key knowledge and tools to Construction.
• Building metrics on Dashboard for KPI reporting to drive better performance internally and externally


A day in the life

You will use data and anecdotes to tactically drive internal customers to manage project risks (time, cost, quality and safety). You will apply your knowledge and experience to identify and develop dashboard reporting to provide the visibility to peers and the leadership to drive better business outcomes. You need to have the backbone to use the data to tell the business "this is what the data is telling us, and this is how it is done" and develop solutions that enable our Construction Managers to enforce the effective project control with their General Contractors and vendors.

You must be an effective communicator, sending clear, concise and consistent messages verbally, in written form, and/or public speaking forums. You must have diplomacy, patience and tact to earn trust in relationships to effectively advise, instruct and challenge internal and external partner teams on strategies and processes.



About the team

You will be integrated with a global network of Construction professionals including Construction Managers, Program Managers, Regional Managers, and Regional Project Engineers in operational teams, as well as the Data Engineers.

Our Data Center Construction Program team owns and drives the process and dashboard reporting from constructability of design, procurement strategies, proposal development, bid analysis, award, to managing the onsite construction work.

• MBA, or Master's degree, Project and/or portfolio management accreditation, such as PMP, Prince2
• Intermediate level knowledge Procore software
• Experience directly related to program delivery / PMO and coordination
• Experience of working with Procore, Power BI, Quicksight, Smartsheet, SQL and dashboard reporting
• Experience with large scale technical operations or large-scale mission critical facilities
• Ability and willingness to find creative and innovative solutions to reduce costs and duration with no impact on quality and reliability.
• Meets/exceeds Amazon's leadership principles requirements for this role
• Meets/exceeds Amazon's functional/technical depth and complexity for this role.
• Experience in developing and presenting business case analysis to senior leadership.
• Drive Continuous Improvement methodologies, practices.

• Demonstrated ability as self-starter to work independently while dealing with high levels of ambiguity, incomplete data, organization complexity, and trade-off requirements
• Facilitation experience at all levels of the organization with both large and small audiences to identify improvement opportunities
• Experience with AWS solutions such as EC2, DynamoDB, S3, and Redshift
• Experience in data mining, ETL, etc. and using databases in a business environment with large-scale, complex datasets
• Understanding of and experience in working with Artificial Intelligence or GenAI tools.
