Internships at Carnegie India
Carnegie India offers three- to twelve-month internships to support the center's scholars and programs. Interns are an integral part of Carnegie's growing global network.
Interns are provided a stipend. Carnegie India is not able to provide information on possible external sources of funding or provide assistance for visa-related matters. Applicants are advised to check with their academic institutions for information about available sources of internship funding.
General Requirements
Candidates must:
• Be a recent graduate
• Have an excellent verbal and written command of English

The application process is competitive. Applications will be judged on past academic performance, relevant academic study, and work experience. Only qualified applicants will be contacted for interviews.

Housing, costs of living, travel costs, and medical insurance connected with the internship program must be borne by interns or by other institutions or organizations. Interns are responsible for arranging their own travel to New Delhi and accommodation.

Program and Research Intern - Security Studies
Carnegie India is seeking program and research interns, with a background in foreign policy, security or international relations to work for a period of three to six months starting 1 August, 2024.
• The intern may be assigned administrative, editorial, research, writing, or organisational tasks to provide overall support to Carnegie India's Security Studies program. The intern will also assist scholars on ongoing projects, background research, and events.
• Responsibilities may include research assistance on issues concerning India's foreign and defense policies with a special emphasis on India's relationship with China, developments along India's border with Pakistan and China, and the strategic transformation of the Indo-Pacific region.
• Support verticals at Carnegie India, including program, development, and communication teams and help with the organization of the Global Technology Summit, Carnegie India's flagship annual event.
• The ideal candidate must have:
+ Excellent research and writing skills.
+ Strong interest in foreign and security policy.
+ The ability to be an enthusiastic and creative team player while working both independently and collaboratively.
This is a full-time role and the selected candidates will be required to attend the offices of Carnegie India in New Delhi.
