Develop and implement data governance strategies for the CMDB to ensure data quality, integrity, and compliance with IT service management standards.
Establish and enforce data governance policies and procedures for the CMDB, ensuring alignment with industry best practices and organizational requirements.
Collaborate with IT teams and key stakeholders to define data ownership, data classification, and data lifecycle management for the CMDB.
Design and enforce data standards, naming conventions, and data classification schemes specific to the CMDB.
Develop and maintain CMDB data governance frameworks and controls, including access controls and change management processes.
Conduct regular audits of CMDB data to identify discrepancies, inaccuracies, or data quality issues, and develop corrective action plans.
Work closely with IT service management teams to ensure the CMDB supports efficient incident, problem, change, and configuration management processes.
Provide guidance and support to IT teams and stakeholders for CMDB data governance-related initiatives, such as data integration, data normalization, and data mapping.
Develop and deliver training programs to enhance CMDB data governance awareness and compliance across the organization.
Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices related to CMDB data governance.
Education and experience
Previous experience (3-5 years) in CMDB management, data governance, or IT service management.
In-depth knowledge of CMDB concepts and data governance principles.
Familiarity with IT service management frameworks, such as ITIL or similar.
Experience in developing and implementing data governance strategies and frameworks specifically for CMDBs.
Proficiency in using CMDB tools and technologies (e.g., ServiceNow, BMC Remedy, or similar).
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to deal with a rapidly changing infrastructure and requirements.
Relevant certifications, such as ITIL Foundation or CMDB Implementation Specialist, are desirable.
