The Production Supervisor will oversee the daily operations of the uPVC windows and doors manufacturing process, ensuring efficiency, quality, and safety standards are met. This role involves managing production teams, coordinating with other departments, and optimizing production processes to meet targets and maintain product quality.
Key Responsibilities:
• Production Oversight:
• Supervise and manage the production process for uPVC windows and doors, ensuring adherence to production schedules and targets.
• Monitor daily production activities, ensuring the smooth operation of machinery and equipment.
• Ensure production is carried out in accordance with company standards, quality control measures, and industry regulations.
• Team Management:
• Lead, coach, and motivate a team of production workers, machine operators, and technicians.
• Allocate tasks, monitor performance, and provide feedback to ensure efficient workflow.
• Conduct training programs for staff on operational best practices and equipment handling.
• Quality Control & Assurance:
• Ensure that uPVC windows and doors produced meet the required quality standards.
• Work closely with the Quality Control (QC) team to identify and rectify defects or process deviations.
• Implement and maintain quality assurance protocols, conducting regular inspections and audits.
• Process Optimization:
• Identify areas for process improvement to increase efficiency and reduce waste.
• Implement lean manufacturing techniques to enhance productivity and minimize downtime.
• Monitor the performance of equipment and machinery, ensuring timely maintenance and troubleshooting to prevent delays.
• Health & Safety Compliance:
• Ensure that all production activities are performed in compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
• Conduct regular safety checks and ensure the production team follows proper safety procedures.
• Promote a culture of safety within the production facility, conducting safety training when necessary.
• Material & Inventory Management:
• Monitor inventory levels of raw materials and ensure adequate stock for uninterrupted production.
• Work closely with the supply chain team to ensure timely procurement of uPVC profiles, hardware, and other materials.
• Oversee the handling, storage, and use of materials to prevent wastage or damage.
• Coordination with Other Departments:
• Collaborate with the maintenance team to schedule preventive maintenance and minimize production downtime.
• Work with the planning and logistics teams to ensure finished products are delivered on time.
• Liaise with the design and engineering teams to resolve any technical issues related to production.
• Reporting & Documentation:
• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly production reports, detailing output, downtime, defects, and other key metrics.
• Ensure accurate documentation of production processes, work orders, and compliance records.
• Communicate production progress and issues to the Production Manager and other relevant stakeholders.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
• 4+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment, with at least 2 years in uPVC windows and doors or a related industry.
• Proven experience in supervising production teams and managing shop floor operations.
• Strong understanding of uPVC profiles, hardware, and the production processes involved in window and door manufacturing.
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies.
Preferred Skills:
• Familiarity with uPVC extrusion and fabrication processes.
• Excellent leadership and team management abilities.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
