The PPC Manager/Specialist is responsible for planning, scheduling, and controlling production activities to meet customer demands efficiently while optimizing resource utilization. The role involves coordinating with different departments such as procurement, production, and logistics to ensure the timely delivery of finished goods.
Key Responsibilities :
• Production Planning :
• Develop and implement production schedules based on sales forecasts and orders.
• Ensure that materials, labor, and equipment are available to meet production targets.
• Coordinate with procurement to ensure timely material supply.
• Adjust production plans as needed to accommodate changes in demand or supply chain disruptions.
• Inventory Management :
• Maintain optimal inventory levels of raw materials and finished products to meet production requirements.
• Work closely with the warehouse and procurement team to ensure material availability without overstocking.
• Monitor and report inventory discrepancies, minimizing excess or shortage.
• Scheduling :
• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules based on orders and sales forecasts.
• Prioritize production activities to meet deadlines and reduce lead times.
• Monitor and adjust schedules to prevent bottlenecks or delays in the production process.
• Capacity Planning :
• Assess production capacity and ensure that equipment and workforce are properly allocated.
• Identify and resolve capacity constraints to avoid production delays.
• Recommend capital investments or process improvements when necessary to increase capacity.
• Quality Control :
• Ensure that production processes are in line with quality standards.
• Work closely with the quality control team to ensure that the production output meets customer specifications.
• Implement corrective actions to address any deviations from quality standards.
• Data Analysis & Reporting :
• Collect and analyze production data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
• Prepare regular reports on production performance, efficiency, and bottlenecks.
• Use data to make informed decisions on production schedules and resource allocation.
• Coordination and Communication :
• Act as a liaison between the production floor and other departments (e.g., sales, procurement, and logistics).
• Communicate any production delays, bottlenecks, or issues to relevant departments and suggest solutions.
• Ensure timely communication with customers regarding order status and delivery schedules.
• Cost Control :
• Monitor production costs and ensure they are within budget.
• Identify opportunities to reduce production costs without compromising quality.
• Implement lean manufacturing principles to improve efficiency and reduce waste.
• Process Improvement :
• Identify areas of inefficiency within production processes and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with engineering and maintenance teams to enhance machine performance and reduce downtime.
• Use tools such as Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing to streamline operations.
