Production ManagerDo you enjoy taking ownership for delivering successful projects?Would you like to be part of the Production Management of Domain Platform Operations team?About our TeamThe Data Platform Operations team within Data Operations Department Elsevier is responsible for ensuring that Secondary electronic content is correctly processed, loaded, and available on Elsevier's product websites for the end user customers.About the RoleThe Production Manager is a team member of the Data Platform Operations team within the Data Operations department and is mainly responsible for production management. The Content Expert manages content on Elsevier's external websites for customers such as Funding Institutional, SciVal, PURE, Scopus, Engineering Village, and content in systems.ResponsibilitiesStakeholder management--Have in-depth knowledge of the research landscape, Product requirements and Product vision.-Organize self around Metric domain leads.-Strong data story telling ability to present critical data that is easy to understand & allow informed decision making-Build and maintain strong relationships with Domain Leads and Product Owners.-Align activities with Product Managers, Domain Leads, Product Owners & other Production Managers.-Present data driven achievements and project status updates, both written and verbally, to various stakeholders.-Represent DPO in various meetings as a Subject Matter Expert/production consultant.-Be the go-to person for reliable data & decisive action taking.-Use squad model principles to ensure alignment with Product & Domain Leads.Production expertise- Initiate production improvement projects, to deliver faster throughput and/or reduce costs, and lead these until successful completion & in BAU mode.- Take ownership of production completeness.- Have in-depth knowledge of content requirements and data models.- Act as SME in a variety of projects and initiatives.- Execute domain plans & act as a first person to raise flag when KPI delivery is compromised- Ensure alignment is reached throughout all steps in the workflow for improvement activities.- Review and gain approval for production improvements and/or change requests to safeguard existing strategy and/or support new business.- Analyze content volume to measure status and identify improvement opportunities.- Initiate review of existing processes, identify improvement opportunities and lead improvement projects that are data centric.- Identify smart ways, using new tools and technologies, to improve quality.- Create targeted QC checks and analysis for new and existing workflows, when needed.- Develop KPIs and align with Product Managers and Domain Leads.- Provide SME content advice to various internal colleagues and external parties.- Ability to align & pivot to moving goal postsSupplier Management- Direct suppliers to take data driven action wherever necessary in consultation with the Supplier Ops Manager- Critically evaluate Supplier data & question for clear- Act as stakeholder during regular meetings and hold suppliers accountable for delivery.Reporting & Analytics- Ability to create new & reliable data sources that can be integrated to big data sets or as stand alone- Usage of tools like Tableau to provide visualized dashboards & reports.- Validation and approval of monthly invoices from suppliers/data partners- Effective collaboration with Content Analysts to condense big data & arrive at logical conclusions- Develop and maintain case studies with tables of data for lessons learnt & success stories for future referencesRequirementsFunctional and Technical Competencies- Data & customer centric & comfortable working with number- In-depth understanding of various markup languages, like xml and JSON.- Experienced in using data analysis techniques and tools, like Databricks- In-depth understanding of the research landscape and Product requirements.- Knowledge of publishing standards and awareness of production lines in the market- Experienced user of MS Office products like Powerpoint, Excel & Word.
