Production Incharge - Railway Engineering Industry
Job Summary:
The Production Incharge will oversee the foundry operations, ensuring efficient production processes, high-quality output, and adherence to safety standards. This role requires strong leadership skills and a thorough understanding of railway engineering manufacturing processes.
Key Responsibilities:
• RDSO Inspection for Bogie Assembly:
• Ensure compliance with Railway Design Standards Organization (RDSO) guidelines during the assembly of bogies.
• Side Frame & Bolster:
• Oversee the assembly and quality checks of side frames and bolsters to meet specified standards.
• Centre Pivot Assembly (Top & Bottom):
• Manage the assembly process of the centre pivot, ensuring proper alignment and secure fitting of both top and bottom components.
• Monitoring New Development Casting Products:
• Supervise the monitoring of new casting products at every stage of the foundry process to ensure adherence to quality specifications.
• Final Product Quality Assurance:
• Ensure that the final product is free from any defects through rigorous quality checks and inspections.
• Defect Analysis:
• Conduct thorough analyses of defects to identify root causes and implement corrective actions promptly.
• Non-Destructive Testing (NDT):
• Ensure all types of defects are assessed using NDT methods, including:
• Dye Penetrant Testing (D.P.T)
• Magnetic Particle Testing (M.P.T.)
• Ultrasonic Testing (U.T.)
• Radiographic Testing (R.T.)
• Preventive Actions:
• Take preventive measures to resolve identified defects and enhance overall product quality.
Key Responsibilities:
• Production Management:
• Supervise daily operations in the foundry.
• Ensure production targets are met while maintaining quality standards.
• Monitor and optimize production processes for efficiency.
• Team Leadership:
• Lead and motivate production teams.
• Conduct training and development programs for staff.
• Manage workforce scheduling and allocation.
• Quality Control:
• Implement quality assurance protocols.
• Conduct regular inspections and audits of production processes.
• Address any quality issues promptly and effectively.
• Safety Compliance:
• Enforce safety regulations and practices within the production area.
• Conduct safety training and drills for all employees.
• Investigate and report on any safety incidents.
• Inventory Management:
• Oversee raw material and finished goods inventory.
• Coordinate with supply chain and procurement teams for material needs.
• Maintain accurate production records and reports.
• Continuous Improvement:
• Identify areas for process improvement and cost reduction.
• Implement lean manufacturing principles.
• Collaborate with engineering teams on product development and enhancements.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum [5] years of experience in production management, preferably in the foundry or railway engineering sector.
• Strong understanding of foundry processes and machinery.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills.
• Proficient in production planning and inventory management software.
