Overview

The key focus of the Solution Consulting role will be supporting the APAC Sales team with the product, tax and technological aspects of the sales process though there will also be a responsibility to support other areas of the organisation with the subject matter expertise the role requires.

It is a very dynamic and varied role with a lot of interesting day-to-day engagements including the duties listed below.

The key focus will be to support the APAC sales teams with demos and support on Avalara products (including AvaTax, ECM, Cross Border, e-Invoicing and VAT Reporting).

Responsibilities

• Support the wider commercial organisation (new business development, Customer Account & Partner management) as a subject matter expert on indirect tax and Avalara products/services
• Provide technical demonstrations of Avalara product portfolio with a key focus on our tax engines, e-invoicing and reporting solutions (AvaTax US, Exemption Management Certificate & Cross Border solutions)
• Support enterprise tender process including proof of concepts and providing technical insight workshops during the sales process
• Deliver presentations and product workshops at industry events
• Provide product and tax training to the APAC Sales team on an ongoing basis
• Provide market and customer insights to Product Management and Content teams
• Deliver thought leadership and product demonstrations via webinars
• Input on Sales and Marketing collateral

Qualifications

• Proven track record of 5 years+ consulting in presales with new SaaS technology and/or in the implementation phase (Indirect tax software experience preferred) or similiar experience
• Big 4 initial experience favourable
• Educated to degree level or equivalent in the domain of accountancy/tax/computing/maths or similar
• Tax qualification favourable (ATT, CTA etc)
• Specialised knowledge of the tax industry, including indirect tax calculation, indirect tax compliance and finance business process (accounts payable/receivable)
• Strong understanding of Indirect Tax determination
• Experience with major ERP systems (i.e. SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Microsoft D365)
• Excellent communication/influencing skills, both verbal and written
• Able to adapt and influence with different personas at all levels including C\' suite
• Critical problem-solving skills
• Quick learner and ability grasp complex concepts and derive the right conclusions
• High energy and positive attitude, and a desire to work collaboratively within the team and cross-functionally
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment with new product introductions
