Merchant Services is the global payment processing business for JPMorgans Wholesale Payments business. Merchant Services is the worlds leading merchant acquirer with over $1 trillion in annual transaction volume in 2018. Merchant Services is a leading provider of payment, fraud and data security for companies large and small. The Enablement and Service Domain Product team is focused on building experiences for servicing and support functions that will be the target state solution for all servicing experiences within the organization. This team is building Product agnostic features that can be used to service both Merchant accounts from Chase direct product offerings and ISV relationships, as well as Partner C1 accounts.
This Product Owner/Manager in E&SD Product team will be focused on the development and delivery of servicing solutions for internal Chase and our customers. These experiences you build will have a focus on Equipment Servicing experiences. The ideal candidate for this role is one with a technical background who possesses a blend of product management, strategy, and tactical execution skills. This individual will need to take input and guidance from a broad range of stakeholders across the organization, including other Product Owners/Managers and Operations to determine the desired servicing experience, develop detailed use cases, define user stories, identify success metrics and collaborate cross-functionally to launch new capabilities in an agile environment.
The candidate must be a change agent who can influence stakeholders and provide factual analysis to support the decision-making process. The candidate must be results oriented and able to clearly articulate any issues impeding progress along with proposed resolution recommendations. Key Responsibilities and Skills
Work with cross-functional partners to ensure compliance with product controls and risk environment
Act as a liaison between IT, UAT, Product, Design, and Operations stakeholders
Partner with product and engineering teams across the organization to deliver against the roadmap
Translate product roadmap into well-defined product requirements including epics, user stories and acceptance test criteria.
Participate in Agile ceremonies (i.e., product backlog, sprint planning, sprint review) with technology teams, and drive technology priorities and deliverables
Define business rules and controls when necessary to support business processes.
Provide product expertise in identifying, evaluating and developing systems and procedures that are cost effective and meet user requirements
Oversee development and execution of an implementation plan for the technology solution
Take ownership of the backlog and product.
Be the leader in the space, influence positive change, and deliver with ownership and accountability.
Requirements
Bachelors degree or equivalent experience required
Experience writing user stories and acceptance criteria for engineering teams
Healthy balance of technical knowledge and product management acumen.
Ability to break down complex problems into simpler words
Strong ability to analyze issues & problems, recommend solutions, and communicate effectively & confidently (both verbal and written)
Effective communication skills with the ability to engage, influence and inspire partners and stakeholders to drive collaboration and alignment
Ability to productively work in a matrix management organization
Ability to work in an environment with strong controls.
A strong team player with the ability to drive multiple initiatives and make things happen in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
High degree of organization, individual initiative and personal accountability.
Ability to voice concerns as well as offer solutions
Travel requirement: less than 10%
Nice to haves
3+ years of hands on Product Management experience.
Experience with the payments industry is a plus.
Experience with consumer facing applications is a plus.
Experience with Agile/Scrum methodology is a strong plus.
Knowledge of the end-to-end payments technology and products a plus.
Inquisitiveness, curiosity and problem solving skills is a great plus.
Knowing how APIs and databases work will be a plus.
