We are scouting for \xe2\x80\x9cGlobal Product Manager - Point of Use\xe2\x80\x9d to be based out of our Shared Business Services @ Bangalore and drive the PoU strategy execution. The Incumbent will need strong organizational and communication skills, as well as the ability to manage and prioritize critical tasks. He/She will need the ability to adapt to changing situations and/or new systems and be able to work well in a team environment.

SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY:

  • We are seeking a highly motivated and talented individual to be a vital part of a dynamic Product Marketing team in a customer-oriented environment. The role of Global Product Manager will be responsible for a portfolio of Point of Use products and will directly report to Manager - Product Management Support at SBS and functionally supports the Head of the PoU Product Franchise. The overall responsibility of the Product Management team is to maintain a portfolio of products that meet current and future customer needs in the Life Science markets we serve. And to combine market opportunities and priorities with deep assessment of portfolio characteristics, competitors, etc. into implications and direction for franchise strategy.
  • Product Managers work directly with customers, commercial teams, and industry thought leaders to assess the process and technology needs of the marketplace and the underlying assumptions that are broadly held. They are champions and empowered drivers in the process of bringing technology and products to our customers, working closely with their colleagues in R&D, Operations and other functions within the company to do so.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Portfolio Positioning Development and Go to Market Priorities for Product Segment:
  • Responsbile for Product Life Cycle Management of an assigned product portfolio to ensure the range of products continue to meet market needs.
  • Maintain knowledge of the market, competitors, and customer needs that drive the strategy and product positioning to ensure regular and robust growth following the global Business Field strategy.
  • Develop and execute strategic marketing plans, defining product positioning, articulating customer value and implementing marketing initiatives.
  • Partner with Commercial colleagues, Marketing Communications and Digital Marketing to develop and execute strategic marketing communication, core promotional collaterals, digital content and commercial tools from end-user perspective with holistic value propositions.
  • Employ Design Thinking and collaboration with R&D and Business Development to drive innovation.
  • Responsible for the contribution margin of an assigned product line with a focus on top line sales revenue and profit margin growth.
Additionally: For PM managing Digital Product
  • Responsible for the entire lifecycle of a digital product, from inception to launch.
  • Develop and execute digital product and it\'s value proposotion with a customer centric approach (design-thinking).
  • Contribute to the UX/UI design, development, or project management of software applications
  • Participate in market research/Conduct customer surveys to gather feedback and identify new opportunities for new and existing features and functionalities
  • Partner with cross functional teams regularly to ensure alignment on feature development and prioritization
  • Specify resource needs both in IT and help recruit the team required for design and development.
  • Partner with IT to manage the roadmap and backlog to ensure that IT delivers all capabilities on time and per expectation
  • Work on a plan for managing, storing, processing and analyzing data sets gathered from the product to identify business opportunities/efficiencies
Product sustainability & supply:
  • Provide consistent support for product other initiatives from commercial, supply chain, legal and others in collaboration with PM Operations, and provides appropriate answers and solutions, in collaboration with all other internal functions.
  • Prioritize and manage (with appropriate support from other functions) critical data management and documentation requirements associated with specific products and product families
  • Watches supply chain performance along with PM Operations and interacts as needed to maintain industry leading service & quality levels.
  • Develop plans of action for customer and commercial implications in case of supply disruption.
Pricing:
  • Conduct regular analysis of portfolio pricing, including price position vs competition and across geographies, pricing structure, and ongoing monitoring of profitability impacts
  • Partner with Commercial colleagues and Pricing team to ensure pricing that enables field sales success by determining optimal catalog prices, guidance on appropriate level of pricing / discounting, and monitoring of execution of pricing strategy
New product development and product expansion projects:
  • Provides product definition, product features, performance requirements and trade-offs, product value proposition and business case for new product development
  • Act as business lead within cross-functional team on all relevant projects (TDP, PDP, CFP, BD etc.) with particular focus on project scoping and planning, management and execution of critical activities, accountability for driving/ influencing appropriate decision-making. And, ultimate responsibility for assessing project team and project direction and escalating as needed for resolution.
  • Set appropriate direction and priority for new product launch plans for projects within responsibility, including assessing critical factors for commercial success of new novel technology/innovation products and extension product launches. Establish market adoption plans, priorities and objectives based on assessment of critical success factors.
  • Partner with Business Development to develop optimal licensing and partnerships
  • Partner with Operations/Procurement on make or buy recommendations, and finds potential sources as needed
  • Design and lead efforts with Technical Marketing and appropriate Commercial teams on new product concept development, alpha/beta trials, product launch, and market adoption initiatives.
  • Partner with Global Sustainability team, R&D, PMOPs to implement sustainable alternatives for existing and new products across the Product Life Cycle incl. Chemistry, packaging, supply chain etc.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS and EXPERIENCE
  • PhD or a Postgraduate in chemistry or any other life sciences.
  • 3-5 years of analytical testing laboratory or other technical or commercial work experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of Analytical Chemistry workflows and techniques
  • Communication Skills (Written/Spoken English)- Proficient
Technical Skills / Competencies: * Microsoft Office- Proficient
  • Proficiency in PowerPoint and Excel functions such as vlookup, pivots.
  • Proficient working with extracting, formatting, validating and analyzing large data sets.
  • Communication Skills
  • Fluent in written and spoken English: Marketing and Supplier communications will be in English
  • German language skills are a plus
  • Business Acumen
  • Strength in ability to assess, diagnose and prioritize multiple inputs
  • Highly professional, have good judgment, able to multitask and demonstrated ability to work well under pressure
  • Ability to express ideas clearly, confidently, and professionally.
  • Strong analytical, prioritization, and interpersonal skills
  • Experience in the life science, environmental, food and beverage industry preferred
  • Experience working across organizational lines to translate market trends and opportunities into financial business plans
  • Passionate about building great products and solving customer and business problems
