Gurugram/Bangalore, IndiaThe Product lead for automation will be responsible for and manage the platform and automation team. Providing test automation and test tool knowledge and expertise to support the application solutions, transversal application solutions and digital factory teams within global technology. The role holder will demonstrate a best-in-class level of expertise in all current test tools and an excellent understanding of industry trends and best practices for test tools and test automation. Reporting to the Test centre of excellence team lead, the product lead will have operational and administrative responsibility for automation and test tool SMEs who support the suite of test tools and automation framework.DISCOVER your opportunityWhat will your essential responsibilities include?

  • Provide vision, direction and goals for the team supporting our test automation tools and test tools.
  • Best-in-class knowledge of testing tools, trends, and best practices to support global technologies test automation (including Selenium), performance testing tools (including JMETER) and test management tools (including JIRA with X-Ray plug-in).
  • Work with our vendors and delivery teams to provide guidance and support whilst implementing our recommended testing tools and best practices for automation, test management and performance testing to support our business and global technology objectives.
  • Drive forward the test centre of excellence roadmap to deliver automation improvements across application solutions, transversal application services and digital factory.
  • Provide guidance and expertise as lead SME for our recommended testing tools and best practices.
  • Manage and support the delivery of application rationalization activity for a suite of testing tools
  • Work with our business, Global technology and information security teams to identify security risks and find solutions, including risk acceptance linked to the implementation and maintenance of our recommended testing tools.
  • Support internal and external audits to ensure services are delivered in a controlled fashion without undue risk to the company.
  • Manage service levels to ensure all test tooling and best practice commitments are met and any variances mitigated to reduce the impact on overall cost, schedule, and quality for business needs.
  • Work with Delivery teams and Technical Architects in defining, analysing, planning, measuring and improving product availability and continuity for the testing tools and associated best practices.
  • Identify and prioritize proactive maintenance action items for testing tools.
  • Identify and champion improvement opportunities and recommendations to test tools and best practices based on industry best practices, trends and concepts.
  • Implements and monitors SLA / KPI alignment across the team and range of testing tools.
  • Maintain positive relationships with vendors and suppliers in pursuit of the companys best interests.
  • Estimate work requests at various levels of confidence and manage estimates against actuals to ensure change controls are appropriately managed.
  • Manage risk to deliver on service level commitments and project milestones.
  • Serve as a point of escalation for risks and issues.
  • Be a contact point and manage Major incidents.
  • Raise and manage problem tickets.
  • Be a steward for ramps.
  • Key conduit between Platform and automation team and wider organizational standards, structures and processes.

  • Proficient with multiple application delivery models including Agile, iterative and waterfall.
  • Proficient with industry-leading testing tools and best practices including Selenium, JMETER and JIRA with XRAY plug-in.
  • All outsourced work performed on applications in the group performed under a fully vetted contract in alignment with Procurement processes, including Security and Legal requirements.
  • Solutions implemented address company security requirements.
  • Effective communication skills, particularly on key matters relating to the testing tools, best practices and recommendations to stakeholders and delivery teams.
