Plum is seeking a talented and driven Product Designer II to join our innovative team. The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of experience in product design and a passion for creating user-centric solutions in the insurance and health tech space.

As a Product Designer II at Plum, you'll play a crucial role in shaping our product experience. You'll work closely with cross-functional teams to design intuitive, efficient, and impactful solutions that revolutionize how people interact with insurance and health management tools.


### Design Ownership and Communication

• Begin with critical reading and analysis of PRDs to ensure the correct problem is being addressed.
• Collaborate with product managers to refine problem statements and project goals.
• Lead the design process from initial concepts through to final implementation.
• Oversee the design implementation, working closely with engineering to ensure design integrity.
• Participate in design sign-off processes before launch.
• Proactively request and analyze post-launch analytics to measure the impact of your designs.

### Design System Consistency and Evolution

• Adhere to established design patterns, components, and guidelines.
• Contribute to the evolution of the design system while maintaining overall product coherence.
• Advocate for a unified user experience across different features and product areas.

### Problem Solving and Innovation

• Demonstrate strong ability to refine problem statements and identify multiple opportunities within a given problem space.
• Conduct user research and analyze data to inform design decisions.
• Generate innovative solutions that address user needs and business objectives.

### System and Visual Design

• Create cohesive, user-friendly interfaces that align with Plum's design system and brand guidelines.
• Work effectively within established patterns and guidelines while identifying opportunities for innovation.
• Pay meticulous attention to detail in visual and interaction design.

### Continuous Learning and Skill Development

• Show willingness and enthusiasm to learn and apply fundamentals of interactions and animations to enhance user experience.
• Stay updated with the latest design trends and technologies in the insurance and health tech sectors.

### Collaboration and Execution

• Work closely with product managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to bring designs to life.
• Participate in design critiques, providing and receiving constructive feedback.
• Create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs


Required Qualifications• 3+ years of experience in product design, preferably in the insurance, health tech, or related industries.
• Strong portfolio demonstrating problem-solving skills, design thinking, and a user-centered approach.
• Experience in conducting user research and translating insights into design solutions.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.

• Knowledge of basic front-end development concepts and limitations.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
