We, SKY BAZAAR HYPER MARKET are seeking a motivated and customer-focused individual to join our team as a Produce Department Associate. The ideal candidate will have a passion for fresh fruits and vegetables, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. As a member of our produce department, you will be responsible for stocking, maintaining, and merchandising our selection of fresh produce while providing exceptional service to our customers. The following will be your duties and responsibilities :

• Stocking: Receive and unload deliveries of fresh produce, ensuring accurate inventory counts and proper storage of items. Stock shelves, displays, and refrigerated cases with a variety of fruits and vegetables, following established merchandising guidelines.
• Quality Control: Inspect produce for freshness, quality, and ripeness, removing any damaged or spoiled items promptly. Rotate stock to maintain freshness and minimize waste, following first-in, first-out (FIFO) procedures.
• Customer Service: Greet customers in a friendly and approachable manner, providing assistance and guidance with produce selection, preparation, and storage. Answer questions about product availability, pricing, and nutritional information.
• Pricing and Labelling: Ensure accurate pricing and labelling of produce items, including price per unit or weight, product codes, and any relevant signage or promotions. Update pricing as needed and communicate pricing discrepancies to management.
• Merchandising: Create visually appealing displays to showcase seasonal produce, highlight specials, and encourage sales. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the produce department, including regular cleaning of shelves, displays, and equipment.
• Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels of produce items and communicate with management to replenish stock as needed. Conduct regular inventory counts and assist with periodic physical inventory audits.
• Safety Compliance: Adhere to food safety and sanitation guidelines to ensure the safe handling, storage, and display of produce. Follow proper procedures for cleaning and sanitizing equipment, surfaces, and utensils.
• Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other department associates and store staff to ensure smooth operation of the produce department and overall store. Communicate effectively with colleagues and management to coordinate tasks and address any issues or concerns.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in a retail or grocery environment preferred.
• Knowledge of fruits and vegetables, including identification, handling, and storage.
• Excellent customer service skills with the ability to interact professionally with customers and colleagues.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Physical ability to lift and carry heavy objects, bend, stoop, and stand for extended periods.
