Key Responsibilities:

Producing high quality packages and lives

Writing scripts, lead-ins, headlines and subbing

Editing video for ulays, headlines and packages

Selecting video and sound bites for headlines, news-belts and packages

Conceiving, writing, and executing graphics in packages and lives

Working with our reporters/correspondents to create content for digital

Writing and editing pictures for shorter bulletins throughout the day and at weekends

Being present in the gallery for TX to time the programmes and monitor breaking stories

Being present in the gallery to pre-record elements for the main programme

Being alert to news wires and breaking stories

Sourcing and logging of pictures and stills when needed

Occasional work in the field required

Occasional acting up to cover the Assistant Programme Editor role required

Working on special projects and long-term stories as required

Qualifications & Requirements:

Knowledge and experience of news and current affairs

Attention to detail, scrupulous checking of facts

Ambitious journalist who can spot a story and tell it in a clear and innovative way

Experience of Avid (or equivalent editing software) beneficial but not essential

Previous output producer experience desirable

High quality news judgement, with initiative

Visual flair for spotting strong pictures and producing graphics

Excellent writing ability

Technical adaptability and flexibility

Good interpersonal skills; a team player with personal authority and the ability to manage a group of people

Calm under pressure with the ability to adapt and be flexible in task and role

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ?20,000.00 - ?30,000.00 per month
