Job Overview: As a Process Expert specializing in Water and Wastewater Treatment Plants (WWTP/WTP), you will be responsible for providing technical expertise in process engineering, optimization, and troubleshooting for water and wastewater treatment facilities. Your role involves analyzing plant performance, identifying improvement opportunities, and implementing solutions to ensure efficient and compliant operation of treatment processes. Responsibilities:
Process Optimization:
Analyze the performance of water and wastewater treatment processes, including physical, chemical, and biological treatment units, to identify opportunities for optimization and efficiency improvement.
Conduct process evaluations, mass balances, and performance assessments to optimize process parameters, chemical dosing rates, and treatment efficiency.
Implement process control strategies, instrumentation upgrades, and automation solutions to enhance plant performance and reliability.
Troubleshooting and Problem-Solving:
Investigate process upsets, deviations, and equipment failures to diagnose root causes and develop corrective actions to restore normal operation.
Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and engineering teams to address process-related issues, resolve challenges, and prevent recurrence of problems.
Provide technical support and guidance during emergencies, shutdowns, and startup activities to minimize downtime and ensure safe and efficient plant operation.
Process Design and Engineering:
Participate in the design and engineering of water and wastewater treatment processes for new facilities, expansions, and upgrades.
Develop process flow diagrams (PFDs), process and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), and equipment specifications for treatment plant projects.
Perform hydraulic and process simulations, sizing calculations, and equipment selection to ensure the optimal design and performance of treatment systems.
Regulatory Compliance:
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, environmental standards, and permit conditions governing water and wastewater treatment operations.
Review and interpret regulatory guidelines, permit limits, and discharge requirements to develop and implement strategies for compliance.
Prepare regulatory reports, permit applications, and documentation to demonstrate compliance with applicable regulations and standards.
Training and Knowledge Transfer:
Provide training, mentoring, and technical guidance to operations staff, process engineers, and plant personnel on best practices in water and wastewater treatment processes.
Conduct knowledge transfer sessions, workshops, and training programs to enhance the skills and capabilities of plant personnel in process optimization and troubleshooting.
Stay updated on emerging technologies, industry trends, and regulatory developments in water and wastewater treatment to share knowledge and promote continuous improvement.
Requirements:
B.Sc. Civil Engineering
A minimum of 15 years of experience in the process design of water and wastewater treatment plants.
Experience in preparation of tender documents and tender evaluation.
Setting up technical design criteria, study and assessment of design alternatives.
Preparation of the preliminary and final design works, developing hydraulics models for WTP and WWTP projects.
Modelling of wastewater treatment plants using bioWin, GPS-X software or similar
Preparation of the block or process flow diagram and mass balance
