Designation: Process Engineer
Salary: Based on the Experience
Experience: 4 to 12 years
Education: B.E Mechanical
Job Location: Bangalore
Industry: Oil and Gas / Industrial
Vacancy : 2
As a Process Engineer in the Oil & Gas sector, your primary responsibility is to design, optimize, and troubleshoot processes and systems involved in the production, refining, and transportation of oil and gas. You will play a critical role in ensuring the safe, efficient, and environmentally sustainable operation of oil and gas facilities while maximizing production yields and minimizing operational costs.
Responsibilities:
1. Process Design and Optimization: Develop process flow diagrams (PFDs), heat and material balances, and process simulations using software such as Aspen HYSYS or similar tools. Design and optimize process units, including distillation columns, reactors, separators, and heat exchangers, to meet production targets and quality specifications.
2. Equipment Sizing and Specification: Size and specify equipment such as pumps, compressors, valves, and vessels based on process requirements, fluid properties, and operating conditions. Collaborate with mechanical engineers and vendors to ensure equipment selection meets project specifications and regulatory standards.
3. Process Safety and Risk Management: Conduct process hazard analysis (PHA), risk assessments, and safety studies (e.g., HAZOP, SIL) to identify potential hazards, mitigate risks, and ensure compliance with safety regulations (e.g., OSHA, API RP 520/521). Design and implement safety systems, relief systems, and emergency response plans to prevent and mitigate process safety incidents.
4. Process Troubleshooting and Debo?lenecking: Investigate process deviations, equipment failures, and production bonlenecks to identify root causes and implement corrective actions. Utilize process monitoring tools, data analysis techniques, and operational data to optimize process performance and reliability.
5. Process Control and Automation: Develop and implement control strategies, loop tuning, and advanced process control (APC) schemes to maintain process stability, optimize control loops, and improve process efficiency. Collaborate with control systems engineers to integrate process control strategies with distributed control systems (DCS) and programmable logic controllers (PLC).
6. Environmental Compliance: Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and permit requirements related to air emissions, water discharge, and waste management. Design and implement pollution prevention measures, emissions controls, and environmental monitoring programs to minimize the environmental impact of oil and gas operations.
7. Process Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of process design documents, operating procedures, and technical reports. Prepare process engineering deliverables, including process descriptions, datasheets, specifications, and equipment datasheets, for project documentation and client submissions.
8. Technical Support and Training: Provide technical support to operations, maintenance, and project teams on process-related issues, troubleshooting, and optimization opportunities. Conduct training sessions and knowledge transfer activities to enhance the skills and capabilities of plant personnel in process engineering principles and practices.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or related field. Advanced degree or professional certification (e.g., Professional Engineer license) is advantageous.
- Minimum of [X] years of experience in process engineering roles, preferably in the oil and gas industry.
- Proficiency in process simulation software (e.g., Aspen HYSYS, UniSim Design) and familiarity with process engineering tools and methodologies.
- Strong understanding of process safety principles, including hazard identification, risk assessment, and consequence analysis.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analytize complex process systems and recommend practical solutions.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and external stakeholders.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements, industry standards, and best practices related to process engineering in the oil and gas sector.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and prioritize work effectively in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. Joining our team as a Process Engineer offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the success of our oil and gas projects while advancing your career in a dynamic and challenging industry.
