Business Unit Overview



Bristol Myers Squibb (BMS) is a global biopharmaceutical company whose mission is to discover, develop, and deliver innovative medicines that help patients prevail over serious diseases. Our Global Supply Chain Organization plays a critical role in ensuring the timely and efficient delivery of our products to patients around the world.



Global Supply Chain (GSC) and the wider Global Product Development and Supply (GPS) organization are undergoing a significant transformation to enable faster delivery of high quality, life-changing innovative medicines for patients. As part of this transformation, GPS needs to become a Digital First organization, building digital capabilities as the main driver for how it operates. Digital First means using the best of technology, data, analytics, business processes and people to achieve better business results.



Our Process and Digital Excellence (P&DE) group is the central point for excellence in Global Supply Chain operations, driving innovation, continuous improvement, and value creation through Digital programs and process initiatives. Our team leads the portfolio of developing top-level capabilities throughout the Global Supply Chain, working towards our digital-first goal. We do this by coordinating Global Process Owners (GPO's), who aim for optimal design, ongoing enhancement, operational excellence, and the sustainable management of key supply chain capabilities. We make sure our processes are smooth, dependable, proactive, and fully connected at a global, enterprise level.



Position Summary



The Process Architect is responsible for supporting the execution of the Global Supply Chain Digital innovation strategy and portfolio by managing digital transformation initiatives from ideation to design and business case development, including user requirements definition. This role also focuses on business process management, including process modeling, maintenance, and governance of process models, as well as documenting opportunities for continuous improvement and process/digital transformation.



The ideal candidate is skilled in project management, business analysis, and digital technologies, and can balance user needs and technical possibilities, deal with uncertainty, and work across functions and levels of an organization. This role requires an individual who is a strong communicator, skilled in stakeholder management, comfortable with ambiguity, complexity and working with diverse stakeholders to shape and execute solutions that deliver value and impact.



Key Responsibilities



The Process Architect is responsible for owning and supporting a wide portfolio driven by business needs that encompass the following activities at varying degrees of depth and engagement.• Support the Strategic Capabilities leadership team in monitoring and maintaining the Global Supply Chain Digital innovation strategy, portfolio, and capability delivery.
• Develop, maintain, and govern process models for Global Supply Chain using BPMN2.0 notation. Provide expertise in business process management and modeling to support strategic projects and initiatives.
• Manage digital transformation initiatives from ideation to design and business case, including user requirements definition, using agile and lean methodologies.
• Ensure robust documentation and application of Digital First/best practices to support digital transformation. This includes and is not limited to documentation pertaining to work instructions, SOPs, and process maps.
• Own development of the Digital Investment budget and ensure value/benefit realization, using data-driven insights to influence informed decision making.
• Drive process excellence and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, effectiveness, and compliance within Global Supply Chain.
• Support the development and implementation of process governance frameworks and best practices.
• Establish and monitor KPIs and metrics for measuring and advancing supply chain digital maturity.
• Create and deploy change management and communication plans to convey insights from projects and associated value to GSC across Global Supply Chain, BMS, and external industry forums.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Global Supply Chain teams and stakeholders across multiple global locations and time zones.
• Stay current with industry trends and best practices in business process management and continuous improvement.

Qualifications & Experience • Bachelor's degree in business, data science, information systems, engineering, or related field; master's degree preferred.
• 5+ years of experience in global supply chain management, strategic project management, planning, and distribution; Life sciences or pharmaceutical experience preferred.
• 3+ years project management experience, managing the delivery of successful strategic and business process initiatives and leading cross-functional teams; project management certification preferred.
• Proven experience in managing business processes, process modeling, program management, governance interactions, budgeting, user requirements gathering, value case development, solution design and analysis within a global supply chain environment.
• Proficiency in using BPMN2.0 notation for process modeling, ideally within a digitized business process management solution (e.g., ARIS, Adonis).
• Familiarity with regulatory compliance and quality assurance principles within a regulated pharmaceutical environment.
• Strong digital, analytics, problem solving and innovation skillset, with the ability to support a digital-first mindset and implement emerging technologies.
• Enthusiasm and energy to help transform organizations, with tenacity/perseverance for leading change. Experience with process improvement methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, or similar is a plus.
• Strong business savviness, attention to detail and people sense, with demonstrated ability to communicate complex ideas to stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a time, with a strategic and creative mindset in a fast-paced environment.
