Principal UX Research - Ops Purpose of the role
Build and lead the UX Research Operations function of TRD which consists of:
• drive the strategy and executions for bringing Travel Distribution research operations from non-existent to great in terms of UX Research operational systems and provisions, so as to ensure that our product-makers are informed and enabled with the right self-serve tools and techniques for high quality insights
• Enable and drive UX Research practices in all product lines with a team of experts (center of excellence) and a community of practice in each BD
• support business domains in their Research executions throughout the product lifecycle (user research consultations, research designs and frameworks, Organized user access ...) in connection with stakeholders in PM, PMM, Customer success, ...
• setup the Operations team of Research Program Managers and organizers considering all TRD-BD's needs and serve at scale through UX lab, events and forums for user interactions and feedbacks.
• design and drive centralized Research programs that bring value transversally across business domains and up-levels our knowledge of users to create meaningful innovation and future-readiness
- UXR Ops -related personnel will sit in Product Management transversally, and the UX Ops team reporting to this position, and will work in the PLC/SAFe framework (in terms of prioritization and cadence)
• By end 2026, we intend to achieve full proficiency in UXR culture & practices at scale in TRD; our product-makers to be fully equipped with Research tools and knowledge
Main responsibilities
Be the Research leader, by defining and establishing a world-class operations team and systems to ensure Amadeus-TRD products are supported based on UXR best practices
Be a strong advocate of user-centricity across BDs, evangelise the Science behind human factors and its critical value for a platform business as Travel Distribution; promoting Research Systems that are adopted by all relevant stakeholders
Be a dynamic leader, leveraging existing knowledge of our products, processes and systems to institute and establish user-centric research practices withing the Product Lifecycle Process in relevance to Travel Distribution platform, products & services (from back-end API and data products, to front-end graphical applications and development/customization frameworks)
Promote Research processes and tools coming from either Services or Products using for instance a common shareable place in order to improve the consistency & reputation (why not outside our business too)
Team management and development. Manage direct team under their responsibility in terms of:
Selection and hiring, attraction and retention, provide relevant guidance, direction and support; distribution of accountabilities and responsibilities; conduct annual performance reviews and any other related P&C process (e.g. Salary Review, etc.).
Relevant Work Experience:
' - Relevant proven experience/multiple years experience of managing research programs on digital products for mobile & web. Experience with B2B products will be a strong plus.
• A track record of leading and inspiring cross-functional stakeholders
• Relevant experience setting up user research programs and testing methodologies that drive design decisions.
• An online portfolio or proven examples of delivered work which demonstrates your results, your process, and way of thinking about UX Research and product design
