Since 1996, the Company has been publicly traded on the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol FDS.DEPARTMENT BRIEF Network engineers at FactSet have a wide variety of responsibilities across the enterprise\'s entire infrastructure. The role primarily consists of designing, automating, operating and troubleshooting FactSet\'s various network systems, including but not limited to our WAN, LAN, SAN, WiFi, Load-balancing, Internet Egress, DNS, AWS Cloud Networking, Network Automation and Market data environments. This broad range of technologies, coupled with the nature of the position, often result in an engineer being required to quickly [re]acclimate themselves with a technology, become a subject matter expert in that domain, fix the problem/implement a solution and then move on to the next initiative. Candidates for this position will provide technical leadership and expertise across LAN/SD WAN/DC & cloud networking. S/He will develop and execute initiatives to simplify, standardize and optimize network and security operations methods and tools to reduce cycle times and increase security, availability, service agility. You will bring your background in networking technologies and proven record of designing and implementing globally to lead the design process and provide technical guidance on networking solutions, product plans, roadmaps, and cost modeling to manage existing networks. You will coordinate with the IT teams to secure the necessary network equipment. Additionally, you will bring solid track record of interaction with ISPs, familiarity with automation tools, multicast experience, strong analytical, project management and troubleshooting skills will receive a higher level of consideration. You will assess the existing network technologies to increase the performance, security & efficiency, examine and evaluate the network performance, and make changes wherever required. Past success designing, delivering, and administrating large networks is much appreciated. The ideal candidate should have delivered / built medium-large scale network infrastructure either as a lead technical contributor or Project manager overlooking the project delivery. A successful candidate for this position will have strong interpersonal skills, an elevated level of verbal and written dexterity and will enjoy providing effective and meaningful solutions for clients, both internal and external.JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Act as a strong consultative resource for FactSet\'s clients, vendors, and internal leaders. Lead a technology team of Network engineers and engage in major project delivery and contributing regularly to improve the stability and performance of the Network Project manage business and network team initiatives Configure Cisco / Arista Routers / Switches, F5 / A10 Load Balancers to provide services that successfully integrate into our clients, vendors and FactSet\'s own internal networks Build solid & long-lived interpersonal relationships with FactSet\'s clients and internal stakeholders Serve as an escalation point for network down emergencies and layer 1-7 network troubleshooting Establish best-practice methodologies based on KPIs for incident/change/problem management in a global, 24x7, high-volume, high-availability, production environment. Keen understanding of budgets and financials and measuring business value via leading-edge metrics and KPIs. Mentor, lead and motivate a top-notch team of managers and/or professionals and set priorities to achieve department goals and KPIs. Research, design and implement new connections to market data providers and other 3rd parties Streamline existing and new processes using templates, automation, and workflow systems Establish standards & governance in future acquisitions to mitigate risk and maximize network stability. Participate in Shift rotation for Saturday & Sunday On-call coverage. Participate in disaster recovery/business continuity activities, as needed. Track record in developing next-generation leaders. JOB REQUIREMENTS BS degree in an engineering discipline or equivalent Relevant experience of 12+ years Ability to be self-sufficient and to grasp new technologies easily Maintain knowledge of present and emerging technologies Thorough understanding of following technologies and tools. Routing protocols TCP/IP Multicast DNS LAN switching Wireshark Software Define Networking (SDN) AWS / Azure Cloud Networking Sound understanding and expertise on Application Load Balancers Experience with BGP, EIGRP, OSPF routing protocols Router / Switch architectures Good understanding of Protocols like HTTP / HTTPS / DNS / DHCP / SNMP / SMTP etc Experience in building Network topologies involving protocols like VxLAN, EVPN, MPLS, MLAG Ability to effectively troubleshoot and isolate technical issues in a timely manner Excellent oral and written communication skills Ability to be a cohesive member of a group Ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders and service providers, both internal and external Ability to define KPIs and experience in defining Capital and Operational budgets for various initiatives.
