Role Overview:
As a Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for implementing software solutions for our cuttingedge Neuromodulation and Pelvic Health business. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure highquality, reliable software that meets regulatory standards, exceeds customer expectations, and seamlessly
integrates hardware and software components in compliance with industry standards.
Principal Working Relationships:
• Reports to the Engineering Manager
• Accountable to a Project Manager(s) for project-related responsibilities.
• Close collaboration with OU stakeholders.
• Frequent interaction with team members from other disciplines, for project requirements and other project artifacts.
• Possible interactions with clinicians, third-party vendors, manufacturers, subcontractors and other users.
Major Tasks:
• The Systems Engineer will be a member of the Engineering R&D team working on the Testing and support of medical devices. They will be working closely with other members of the engineering staff to provide technical solutions to engineering problems.
• The Systems Engineer will participate in the creation of design documentation, software code, test plans, Testing, Sustenance, Maintaining, other project artifacts and becoming Subject Matter Expert.
Responsibilities:
• Participate as a member of software project or sub-project teams in testing software applications and device firmware.
• Collaborate with hardware, software, and firmware teams to ensure effective integration of system components.
• Develop and execute test plans to verify and validate system functionality, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
• Generate and maintain comprehensive system documentation, including specifications, design documents, and test protocols.
• Work closely with multidisciplinary teams, including software engineers, hardware engineers, and quality assurance, to achieve project goals.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and internal quality processes in software development.
• Conduct code reviews and contribute to the continuous improvement of software development practices.
• Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in software engineering.
• Adhere to defined software and medical procedures and processes.
• Generate high-quality work products.
• Test the functionality and performance of software applications or systems software, develop and execute test plans and scripts, perform workflow analysis, document test results, and recommend quality improvements.
• Work with development teams to resolve software defects and improve product configuration for current and future models.
• Define and set up the test and validation environment, review test automation frameworks, tools, techniques, and methodologies.
• Communicate critical issues and status updates in a timely manner.
• Participate in requirements, design, and code reviews.
• Participate in activities such as performing hazard and risk analysis, and reviews of designs and tests.
• Function well in a team environment and mentor junior team members.
• Demonstrate good coding practices.
Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or a relevant field with coding and/or testing skills.
• 14+ years of experience.
• Proven experience in software development and Testing - C++, C#.
• Candidate should be knowledgeable and have experience in software engineering processes and software life cycle in general.
• Should be willing to go the extra mile in learning, exhibit adaptability, and be a good team player.
• Excellent Spoken and written communication, confidence and collaboration skills.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Good to have:
• Experience in Systems Engineering, Programmable software development, preferably in the medical device industry.
• Experience in Image Processing.
• Experience in the medical device industry.
• Familiarity with regulatory requirements in the medical device industry (FDA, ISO, etc.).
• Experience on: .Net. C#, Winforms
