Were enabling our customers to usher in new services and applications that improve how people communicate with our innovative vertically integrated, open, modular solutions.About the Role:As part of Infinera's Optical Systems Group, you will have a unique opportunity to contribute to the design and architecture of optical transport systems for Infineras disruptive pluggable transponder technology. You will be responsible for architecting and implementing new optical hardware and software platforms in collaboration with our Systems Engineering and Software Development teams.Your Key Responsibilities Would Include:

• Architecture, design and validation of distributed, link-level optical line system control systems in close co-operation with product and architecture teams globally.
• Understand customer use cases and customer experience expectations; clarify system & product concepts, features & requirements.
• As an architect and subject-matter expert, work as part of agile SW teams on implementation while guiding the team with your domain and technical expertise.

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

• Hands-on experience with DWDM transmission systems including coherent transponders, EDFAs, Raman amplifiers and ROADMs; Knowledge of advanced coherent modulation formats including practical experience with transmission in long haul systems
• Working knowledge of closed loop and open loop control systems
• Excellent programming, analytical and troubleshooting skills
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Highly motivated team player adept at cross-functional, cross cultural and international teamwor

Education & Experience Necessary for Success:

• PHD in optics Engineering or MS in Optical Engineering, + 5 years of relevant experience

All personnel in this position must be eligible to or be able to obtain authorization from the appropriate agency to access applicable Export-Controlled Information. The U.S. Department of Commerce currently requires a foreign person with a most recent citizenship or permanent residency of Sudan, Ukraine, or a country currently designated in Country Group (Supplement No. 1 to Part 740, Title 15) to have an export control license to access our Export-Controlled Information, unless they meet certain exemptions provided under U.S. export control laws and regulations. The list of applicable countries in Country Group may be updated by the U.S. government from time to time. The current processing time for an export control license is approximately 4 to 6 months.Your employment or engagement with Infinera shall be contingent on verifying your eligibility or requirement for obtaining a necessary license and/or authorization from the appropriate agency.
